Somebody posted that last week. Its probably on the last page.

      Still very cool.

FYI, TDK is being re-released on Jan. 23rd to the big-screen for Oscar season.

Good points, this is the most anticipated blueray ever in it's short history. So when reveiwers look at the transfer they tend to watch it thru rose colored glasses ignoring it's shortcomings because...well it's TDK. If this transfer had been a run of the mill movie it would definately have lost a few points.

It's like the Planet Earth blueray. It's such an excellent series and you figure bluray goes perfectly with a series about the planet where all this wondrous imagery and nature scenes are blended together that it's gotta be reference material. Well it's not because at least half of the discs are very soft and not very vivid. But this disc gets 10\10 everywhere with a little disclaimer about some images being soft. Just like the little disclaimer on TDK about EE at the bottom. Hell, many images throughout the Planet Earth disc barely look hidef. It's a 8\10 at best, good but not great.

The TDK hype gets to everybody because of the IMAX scenes and how the design of the movie is tailer made for bluray. Happens with those blockbuster movies like the Crystal Skull and the Star Wars prequels which initially get overinflated scores because the critics fall for the hype. It's nothing new. A year from now we'll all be bitching about the disappointing quality of the TDK bluray.

The problem with Warner is not so much with their PQ, but more with their SQ. I am more disappointed when they can't even offer TrueHD 5.1 mixes on their releases that take advantage of the audio upgrade, but release films in Dolby Digital 5.1 on Blu-ray.

In the last few months, they released movies like Get Smart, Fred Claus, Kitt Kittredge without TrueHD............but they will release films like Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 with TrueHD. To me that is much more alarming. Get Smart could have really taken advantage of the TrueHD. Oh well.

Just watched the blu-ray version of this on my roommates Samsung 52A650 and thought the quality was fantastic. Can't mention sound because he doesn't have surround sound and I didn't feel like hooking mine up.

Well, it was great to say that I was able to rent it again last night and watch it with a few buddies. However, I still stand by what I said: as beautiful as this baby is (especially the IMAX shots), it can definitely be improved on by lowering that EE. And after watching it again, it's definitely not something that I am just "looking for." It's there, and it's real.

That is ironic! I think I'll add it to my iPhone, to go along with all four WS wins in their entirety.

Just got done watching it and WOW! simply fantastic. And for the sound beind "muddled" or whatever, methinks someone needs to calibrate and balance their audio...my walls were shaking and every line was crisp and clear. The blacks were inky, the visuals astounding (in particular the IMAX scenes...the first I've seen them), and with an ISF calibrated display the "extra edge enhancement" hullabaloo talked about here by some is way, way, WAY overblown.

I plan on watching it again tonight as the ambient light in my room was much higher than my ideal viewing environment would allow.

                                EDIT: Here's my system:

                                52" Sony XBR5 LCD - ISF Calibrated
