And Megatron was more of a...spaceship than a fighter jet. Remember, Megatron never scanned anything so he was still his "alien robot" form thing.

Not really. I saw that part and he just changed his arms into a cannon. He didnt technically transform.

Man, the point is, Megatron is not a jet and was never associated with a jet.

That's just like saying it would've been okay to make ptimus Prime a speed train instead of a diesel.

They looked good but how bout they spend sometime establishing them. They spent zero time telling us who the other decpes and autobots were.

I guess this comes from the fact I never liked Megatron as a gun (too simple), but I don't think the baddest decepticon in the universe should require someone else to aim and fire him.

And as has been stated, his arms did turn into a bad-*** cannon at the end.

The transformers have to evolve. I mean, we don't really expect Soundwave to be a tape deck in the sequel, do we?

Yeah I agree. I guess b/c I knew about them I was so geeked to see them anyway. lol

The Decepticons didn't really get any face time. I wouldn't have minded that as much if they would have developed (somehow) the relationship b/w Starscream and Megatron.

BUT... if you followed the cartoon... I don't think you can say you didn't feel right at home.

Right but it was a change that wasn't that bad. It's similar to Spiderman not having web cartridges. It was a change that, while purists riot, still did not really effect the storyline.

In the cartoon he was a handgun. Can you imagine that up on the screen? The general public would've laughed right out of the theater...

The Decepticons could've had more color too... namely... Purple...

at the end of the credits a decepticons logo flew out of the water and yes there will be two more sequels

I don't think it has anything to do with what one person likes, megatron was a gun. They completely ignored a main character Thundercracker who was "a jet" that looked just like starscream, and replaced him with Megatron who was "a gun".

If they wanted to change him, galvatron would've been better.

No it didnt ruin the movie, but then again the movie was circulated around a boy instead of the transformers anyhow.

Just got back from the movie and really enjoyed it! Fast paced and a lot of demolition, nice!

Megatron was not a fighter-jet. Megatron was a spaceship-like thing.

Megatron never scanned anything, so who knows what he'll be in a sequel when he actually scans something to transform into.

Something funny I read while on the IMDB boards

three new transformers were made when sam dropped the allspark, the cadillac air bag thing, vending machine, and the xbox 360. they chose the 360 because it wasn't believable that the ps3 would turn into something that didn't suck.

I hated this movie....hated it. The worst thing about it was that I had low expectations coming into it. I told people that as long as it was robots fighting for 90 minutes I would be happy. I didnt care about the script or plot holes just robots fighting. So what did they do? They waste about an hour with the humans when no one gives a crap about the humans other than Shia Lebouf's character (who is going to be a star) Here is a short list of what I hated:

- The CGI was good but they did little to distinguish each transformer with the exception of optimus and bumblebee. Megatron and Starscream looked too much alike.

- Some of the fight scenes were disorienting and the design of the transformer made it hard to see who was hurting who in some scenes

- They deviated too much from the Transformer origin: Megatron wasnt a gun? Bumblebee is a Mustang?

- Did we really need the hot scientist or the soldiers or the secretary of defense?

I have more but I dont have time to type them all. Its a C-, D movie imo.

Bumble Bee was a Camaro, and they couldn't make Megatron a gun, people who knew nothing about Transformers would have been like WTF? A 10 foot tall gun? Fanboys of the cartoons are far too whiney if you ask me they did a great job with the movie. Do you pick apart all movies like this? I mean Saving Private Ryan and movies like that are hardly realistic either yet no one goes and bashes them like they do when cartoons are involved. Nerds man, I tell ya what!

Thundercracker was never really a huge character on the show. Him and Skywarp (the purple jet) were always sidekicks to Starscream. Granted I would have like for them to add all 3 jets in (they would need to color code each though) I can live with them being absent in the first movie.

Hopefully in the next movie we get Soundwave, Shockwave, Thundercracker, Skywarp, and maybe the Constructacons and Dinobots.
