Re: Transformers the movie
Wow the new trailer is crazy. Optimus Prime transforming look pretty damn good. I'm right there with you guys man. It wouldn't be Transformers without the voices. They have to have personalities, not like those drones in War Of The Worlds
If the guys who did the voices(most notably Prime, Megatron, Starscream and Hot Rod) for the show are somehow in it, man I'll be there opening night too."Your character is who you really are, your reputation is what you're perceived to be by others" - John Wooden(former UCLA head coach)Comment

Re: Transformers the movie
Well, Chris Latta (Starscream) died, so I doubt he'll be reprising his role.
Frank Welker has sent in his audition tapes for Megatron, and he's in the lead to win the role. Sounds like he'll reprise his role, along with Cullen.
Cullen, however, is currently the only voice actor who's been confirmed.
It's rumored that Bumblebee may not have a vocal role, having had his voice systems ripped out. If true, he will communicate through his car radio.
Cullen won't be providing the voice to Ironhide, like he used to.
Also, Shia LeBeouf is signed on for two sequels. Soundwave and potentially Shockwave will be new major characters. Peter Cullen is in talks for returning for the two sequels.

Re: Transformers the movie
I wasn't a big fan of any of the post Gen One Transformers stuff but I heard there was a guy that did Starscream's voice during Beast Wars that sounded a lot like Latta. Personally I wouldn't mind if they went a different route with
the Screamer. His voice can get grating at times.
It wouldn't be right to cast Cullen and not have Welker doing Megs' voice.
That makes sense to me right now. A long time ago there were fans saying the guy who played Neelix on Star Trek: Voyager would make a good Bumblebee because he could portray that caring yet "fish out of water" aspect of Bumblebee.
Not surprising really
Yeah, before they even started producing this movie it was slated to be a trilogy at the very least. As for Soundwave and Shockwave being major characters that's not all that surprising because in the comic book run (which a couple or so years ago I actually read all of online) they were BOTH significant for most of the Gen One run.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Transformers the movie
Other than Prime, I think most of the old voices are throw aways. Megatron's voice just embodies 80's villains to me so I could take it or leave it. None of the other voices were really anything special and are easily replaced. As long as the personalities remain intact I'll be happy.Comment

Re: Transformers the movie
They filmed a ton of this film about 150 yards from my work, I saw some spots showing my work place in the trailer. If I always took a digi camera with me to work I'd post pics, but I dont so I cant.
I saw Optimus parked, the yellow rescue hummer, and the black dually truck with the pipes coming out the bed. They also shut off a major street around 4 in the morning to film a scene.
The parts shot at my work is, the same place a ton of films are shot, ie: Bad Boys, Gone in 60 secs, Anchorman, Jackass, Be Cool (sequal to get shorty), Fast & Furious Tokyo drift, epis of 24 when I saw SWAT looking dudes rapelling from our 5th St. bridge.
That is the spot they film all this, in and around a warehouse under the 5th St. bridge in downtown L.A. I work about 150 yards or less from there and see them constantly filming. They always post messages on our front door to let us know when they are shooting and when.
It was cool to see the autobots in person.Last edited by Boltman; 12-22-2006, 09:09 AM.Comment

Re: Transformers the movie
It is on the corner sandwiched between Santa Fe & Mesquit (where I work) directly under the 5th St. Bridge going over the L.A. river. There are a ton of homeless there, and a ton of cops and a skiploader come to move them out every time it is time to shoot movies. That is almost weekly LOL.Comment
