The thing is they (the movie people) didn't want to have the potential problem of mass shifting with the transformations so right off the bat you knew there was going to be changes. Some of the robot forms don't look very Transformers like but some of them look great. (mainly Optimus Prime) I'm still very much looking forward to this movie.

Some weird looking alien jet/spaceship. Here's a pic of the toy in alt mode:

I think they ran into a wall with him. They probably wanted him to be the most powerful Decepticon and obviously so, but they already had a tank character, jet fighter, attack chopper, etc. Personally, I would have made him a stealth bomber or something. That thing they settled on is pretty stupid looking.

I have wondered the same thing - the original was the best and everything else is just blah to me...Being the Transformers geek I am, I will watch the movie and hope that it turns out to be OK. There's always only going to be one Transformers: the MOvie for me...the cartoon version

Come on. The original cartoon characters in a CGI/real life movie would have looked ridiculous. I don't know if I'd have gone as far as they went with the characters, but they had to make some big changes.

agreed! as i said above they did manage to make them look alien since they are from another universe and all...i think the designers did a good job in that department....

agree with recent post. some changes were necessary in IMO. Megatron, Soundwave...just wouldnt cut it on the big screen. I heard somewhere that Soundwave would be in the movie..but as an Ipod!

Just as long they have their personalities and voices (which we will have since Cullen and Welker will be providing the voices of the main characters) then its going to be bliss hearing Optimus and Megs in a live version of themselves.......

What you and some of these others fail to realize is that in the original cartoon, the transformers didn't look anything like we know them as in the beginning, and it was not until they saw earth cars and vehicles that they scanned them and took on new form. So saying things like they aren't supposed to look that authentic is crazy. Why do it if you can't do it right?

Im sure there is a way they can make them look original, not like some "alien the movie" reject props.

Masss transforming? This is the transformers man! What are they making the movie for if they can't handle it?

What about the faces? Some of those faces are so off it looks like they tried to mix the transformers and go-bots together, or better yet, they could've just made the vehicle Voltron if they wanted to make an ugly alien robot.

Where'd you guys get it? Universal City I'm assuming.

It should be a great movie to watch. Can't wait for it.
