Just got back from watching it (in the Philippines, 1 week advanced showing) and I must say, The Transformers were done justice. Seeing it on the big-screen, you wouldn't even think for a second that these robots were fake. ILM did a great job with transforming the Transformers from vehicle to robot form and it was done (ahem) realistically. Coming into the movie, I wasn't really expecting anything story-wise 'cause hey, those robots are the main attraction. Quite surprisingly, the story was quite good and set-up any future movies quite nicely. The human characters (or rather, the extras) offered a decent diversion from the Transformers and provided a good amount of comic relief without it being cheesy and out of place. I haven't seen many of Shia's movies but he did quite well as the 'main' human character and provides that link between robot and human.

Back to the Transformers, they were all very-well made although it was sometimes hard to discern them from one another (especially for the Decepticons) when they were fighting because they almost all looked-alike. They also portrayed the humanity of the Autobots well and from what I can remember, maintained their personalities from the cartoon. The voice actors were good in their roles with a special mention to Peter Cullen who gives us a familiar Optimus Prime. Michael Bay did a great job making such a realistic-looking movie that you'd just have to wonder if these robots actually exist somewhere.

If you never liked robots before, you'll love them when you see Transformers. It definitely deserves a 2nd-screening because its that damn good.

Now its only a matter of time before Japan actually starts rolling one of these Autobots out.

*Megatron transforms into a futuristic jet spaceship, for the one who asked. And no, it looks nothing like that toy. At least from what I could see during the movie anyway.
*The scanning aspect is in the movie in a number of scenes.
Ah Ha thank you bro. It was driving me crazy.

Wow I can't wait. I saw the half hour preview on HBO and its crazy how many action scene's that they are talking about. They constantly were showing things blow up, people running like crazy....its madness!!

The thing I can't believe is that this movie is not coming out on IMAX. What a bummer, if any movie, this movie should come out on IMAX!

I think this movie will be one of those sleeper hits. People might expect it to do OK and maybe it just has one of those average opening weekends but I expect it to steamroll if the movie is as good as I think it will be (along with a lot of positive early reviews). I think this will sort of catch people by surprise. Going to see the movie Tuesday afternoon and I hope its great!

I work at a theatre and saw it earlier today... fantastic. I never watched the show but was hyped because of the trailer and directors/producers/actors in it. It doesn't disappoint. Everyone of my coworkers that watched it loved it as well--even those who watched it as a kid. The action is epic and the plot is good enough to get to those action parts. And the Meagan Fox girl is freakin' amazing looking in it. It's surprisingly funny; Shia does a good job at his part being most of the comedic relief, but even the Transformers are funny. I highly recommend it.

Just got back from seeing the movie part of an employee screening. Let me tell you this movie does not disappoint. From beginning to the end you will be loving it. I think Bay did everything really well and I'm willing to bet that this will be the highest grossing movie this summer. I liked it so much I'm thinking about going back and seeing it tonight. Spend your money and go see this.
