Anyways, I thought the direction of the movie was spot on. It was more of a character movie which is the part of Superman I like most in Smallville, Lois & Clark, etc. He's such an invincible figure that it almost has to be character driven. I loved the movie and would give it an 8.5/10.

Re: Superman Returns
my favorite was soon after the kryptonite "Land Mass" was created, Lex somehow got it wired for cable or dish, electricity and had plasma screens installed. Nothing else, mind you, just a couple plasmas on some rocks and his cronies playing cards. LOL!!XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

Release Date hasn't been set yet (should be before Christmas).

Wish it had one of those features where you can just insert the deleted scenes into the movie tho.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Superman Returns
No kidding. Revenge of the Sith had some awesome deleted scenes that I wish could've been entered into the DVD, and I bet this DVD is going to be the same way.

Re: Superman Returns
I can't wait to get that set. I'm real interested in seeing the Donner cut of Superman II. I've heard so much about it over the years and seen little clips from it, I wonder what the final product will be like. I can't wait to see Superman Returns again also! That was such a great movie.
It's probably about time to put that old Superman DVD collection on ebay to try and get some money for it before the new set comes out.Last edited by aukevin; 09-22-2006, 05:36 PM.

Cripes that looks expensive as all hell.
I'm guess/hoping you can buy the movies individually because I already have the Donner cut of Superman: The Movie and while seeing a full cut of Superman IV might be interesting i'm only interested in seeing the Donner cut of Superman II.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Superman Returns
A Superman Returns sequel is finalized, not that we all didn't know they were going to make one. Here's the press release:
Superman Sequel is Up Up and Away!

With Superman Returns breaking $200 Million domestically and a worldwide gross of over $390 million, Warner Bros. is moving forward with the sequel.

Weeks before the DVD has it’s grandiose release, the IESB has learned that Bryan Singer has finalized a deal to move forward with the sequel this past weekend and the studio is planning to start production sometime next fall, possibly next September.
When the IESB contacted a studio rep for comments we got this response - Warner Bros. does not comment on projects that are in development. A few calls later, other studio insiders confirmed that the deal was finalized last week and the team that brought Superman Returns to theaters earlier this year will return for the sequel.
We have been told that a couple of things are for certain. For one, the sequel will have a slightly smaller budget. Returns budget was approximately $208 million dollars with P&A (prints and ads) of about $50 million putting it at around $260. The sequel is expected to be around $140-175 million plus marketing.
Second, more action, tons more action is expected this time around. The studio was quite happy with the way Supes was reintroduced to the world and next time around expect to see him in full action battle mode. We’ve been told that Superman will have the battle of his life in the sequel and audiences can expect one of the ultimate baddies in the D.C. universe to come to Metropolis to pick a fight with the Man of Steel.
Stay tuned to the IESB for the latest Superman news.

Re: Superman Returns
Well it said ultimate baddies of the DC universe. I don't really think Zod ranks up there in the general scheme of things at DC or does he? Then again, seeing that the budget is being slashed it would make more sense for it to be Zod because a movie with Darkseid would probably need the full 200 mil+ production budget. Either way I can't wait for this movie. I just hope that they don't forsake the story elements for all the action stuff as I really liked the story driven nature of SR.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I wonder who the ultimate baddie is? The ultimate bad guy for Superman, other than Lex, is Darkseid or Zod IMO. I'm hoping for Darkseid, but it will likely be Zod.
But the way they can overhype things it could be Parasite for all we know.Comment
