Yes, I agree. The only thing that bothers me is they are negotiating with a terrorist.

Also, going back to what RudyJuly said, it's dangerous to think that to kncok off the leader would stop the violence, but how many Americans probably think if Bin Laden was dead, we'd be safer?

And then going back to the impact of this show, my wife started taking the bus to work every morning. This show had me thinking about how vulnerable we are to this type of violence, and while it's "just a TV show," it is a very sensitive topic.

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)

I really think the idea of this season is much more realistic than most of the other seasons.

Terrorists being able to steal highly guarded nuclear weapons, or smuggle nuclear weapons into the country? HIGHLY unlikely.

The remote controlling every power plant in the country? Impossible. My Dad almost stopped watching the show because of that - he works at a nuclear power plant.

The President leading a terrorist attack against his own country?

And so on, and so on.

What do they do this season? Something that actually happens all the time in other countries. Suicide bombers, car bombs...it's almost too realistic. It's not just one super weapon...it's pure chaos. It's almost too realistic of a depiction of terrorism. Bombing not for sheer casulties, though that does play into it highly, but for fear.

Granted, I'm sure sooner or later they will work in some super weapon, or super plot to kill everyone...but at the moment, I've never felt the "bad-guys" plot to be more realistic.

I haven't seen a lot of this show, but did anyone else laugh when they saw Kumar in a serious role?

Either way I thought the show was very good last night and I'll definately watch again tonight to see what happens.

I love the show myself. And I do agree there are some plots that seems highly unlikely. BUT suicide bombers on U.S. soil seem unlikely also. Outside of 9/11 when was the last time a suicide bomber was successful on U.S. soil?

I myself would tend to believe the smuggling of nuclear weapons more than the suicide bomber on American soil. I remember the nuclear device from season 2 BUT also remember that there was help from inside the government to smuggle that nuclear weapon.

I do agree with you on the power plant sceme in season 4. That was highly unlikely.

I do agree that the smaller terrorist plots are a lot more likely. The remote control had to be one of the dumbest ideas 24 has come up with. To be perfectly honest I'm surprised we haven't seen more of the conventional terrorism in North America after 9/11. Europe has had some of the subway bombings and North America has escaped it. I'm glad but watching a show like this makes me happy I drive to work every day.

There is no way to stop suicide bombers if they really want to do anything.

I can't wait till tonight. Like a lot of other people have said this feels realistic. I've seen every episode either on TV *seasons 1-3, and 5* and on DVD *season 4*. This one so far has been my fav since the first season. They could go a ton of different ways playing this out.

Lets try and not post "24" and "realistic" in the same thread. It just doesn't go together.

On that note I really dig this season, but probably because they are new, I absolutely hate everyone in CTU besides Buchanon, Chloe, and her boy from Boondock Saints.

                        RIP Rube

24 pulled in big numbers last night. Hour 1 got 8.4 and Hour 2 got 9.1

Jack Bauer is a changed man after his China experience. I like how his character has more depth this season. He was dead wrong about the Fayid guy having no information in the empty house.

I thought Kumar did a good acting job, but I'm always going to picture him as .... Kumar.... no matter what role he plays.

I like the addition of Peter MacNicol to the cast. I love to hate the Tom Lennox character.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Nadia Yassir. The hottest woman to ever work at CTU (yes even better than Kim).

No sight of Agent Pierce or Mike Novick. Considering the history between Novick and David Palmer, I could understand not seeing him this season. I hope Pierce comes back though. Only he and Jack have appeared every season.

I'd rather see Pierce and Mike back in the thick of things.

This weasel looking character as the presidents advisor sucks.

BTW fellas, what do you think

That's a good point. I'm tired of CTU gettting a bunch of losers in there. They need to make that place a little more substantial. CTU has way too much drama. It always has. It's time that changes.
