Yeah, he did. But he first called the consulate after his wife talked to the nut job. He wouldn't even dicuss it with the VP.Comment

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)
I'm sure in reality the Russian president would approve of the US storming the Russian Consulate and killing members of his army based on the institutionalized conversation Martha Logan had with his wife. He says no to the president but yes to a whackjob. Very believable. Furthermore, couldn't he have handled this without violence? No cell phones to others at the embassy just telling them to stand down? Jack got a cell phone from someone at the embassy. Nope! Just go in and kill all my people on Soviet soil. This show is getting absolutely ridiculous.Comment

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)
Don't forget, this all started with an act of war as well since Jack never should have been there. He illegally invaded the Embassy and cut off a guy's finger based on a gut feeling of a lying former president involved in the assassination of another president and a person who once order the Russian president to be killed.Comment

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)
Obviously they don't have anyone else to contact since there is noone over the consulates head.
He went rogue so don't blame the the russian president for that. This guy could have caused the countries relations to break down, and ultimately start a war. I would tell them to get him too.
Your unfounded hate for the president's wife leaves out the fact that the subaroff's didn't view her as a nutjob, and she risked her life to be with them in a planned ambush of their escort.
Jack was not the guy who started anything. Obviously the guy knew something was up and they knew he had ties with Gredenko. They knew he had dealings with the guy when he came in the country and he fessed up.
Please, do yourself a favor and stop watching now. You seem like you don't enjoy it, and you have a knack for coming in the thread just to say its "not realistic".
It's a tv show, and if you haven't figured that out you are missing something in your life. If it no longer entertains you, watch a reality tv show and that might get you off.Comment

The whole "It's just a TV show, get a life" comment is a hollow argument and out of line. I don't give a show a free pass just because its on TV. I may not watch the show in the future but I will still watch until the end of this season. I have my doubts about watching it next year. I think you are the one that's taking this too personally. Geez, someone is posting something negative about my favourite show - he better shut up and get a life.Comment

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)
Doesn't matter. I doubt he would subject innocent soldiers in his Embassy to be killed. They don't have someone else he could contact in the embassy to stop this? There had to have been a better solution than to let American troops invade their territory and kill their men? That was the worst possible scenario and all made possible by a nutjob calling the Russian president's wife.

I think next season they should kill off Kim and have Jack pull a "Without Remorse" for the entire 24 hours. They need new material badly.Last edited by Stu; 03-13-2007, 11:22 AM.Comment

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)
You obviously still love 24 and are doing your best to defend the show. I've watched every season and have come to get annoyed with it at this point. Yes, my comments have been negative regarding the show lately but I believe its my right to say that. I think this last plot twist was ridiculous and said so. I'd don't even post that much in this thread. Its not like I'm piling on every day. I went a few weeks without posting anything so I don't think I'm trolling here.

Don't come to the boards after every episode whining about how unrealistic it is. We knew that long ago. Things last year weren't exactly the most realistic either but they happened.
I have made critical comments about the show not making sense at some point, but don't act as though I'm defending the show because I don't want to continually see essentially the same post each week. Just watch something else because obviously its not real enough to keep you happy.
I want less dragging on as well but Im not going to act like parts that were shown weren't there.Comment

No it's not hollow. If you want reality tv, then watch a reality tv show.

I don't think one post a week is trolling and like I said, I avoided this thread for almost a month. I'll watch what I want to watch and say what I want to say. Its called free speech. I may not post anything anymore since I am feeling the same way after every episode now. However, this isn't the 24 fanboy thread. If you don't like what I'm saying just ignore me.Comment

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)
I'm not the only one that's been disappointed this year. My disappointment and negativy come from the fact I've been a huge 24 fan for years and this year has especially let me down. I can excuse some things from being unrealistic but too many things have happened that way this year.

Can't disagree with the disappointment. I agree that they need more action. The main guys Jack and Fayed were barely the focal points of the show. I hope they don't bring Martha back for long because i absolutely hate her character. Unstable, always crying and no real action.
As far as your posts, yep you can post what you want, and nope this isnt a fanboy thread, but it is a mere suggestion because after 5 or 6 posts of the same thing, we get the picture, and especially multiple episodes. If its reality you want the most, try realtv because the writers don't seem to care right now, and you don't seem to care about leaving parts of the show out to prove your point.Comment

I've said my peace and I won't bother posting about the unrealistic stuff anymore. I will just finish watching this season and I really don't know if I will watch the next one.

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)
Its fair to say I've been overly negative. I'll admit that I've been a bit of a broken record and can accept that. What I don't like is when you tell me to go watch reality TV to get myself off. I find that unnecessary.

Nah man, I didn't mean don't post here anymore and all. My apologies if it came off that way. I share your frustrations about the show. IMO mostly everyone here is insightful. People pick up on things others dont at times, some things we all know is coming. They're really enjoyable posts to read to be honest with you. It's why I keep coming here.
You are pretty intelligent no doubt about it, I'd just like to know more of your thoughts on the show moreso than whats wrong with it. If anything you add to the thread more than take away from it. I wish the bball forums could be more like this thread really. There is more civil discussion here than what at least half of those guys spew on those boards.Comment

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)
That's cool. I tend to see the glass half-empty too often. I should post more about the positives since 24 isn't a bad show - its just not as good as I think it could be.
I liked the whole thing with Jack's brother and his dad but I hated that they gave away the dad in the preview. That ruined the entire ending of the next show for me. I really like Bill Buchanon in his role - he's one of the best managers this show has had since he comes across as calm, composed, intelligent as well as willing to bend the rules where necessary. He's not as shallow as some of the former characters. Milo and Morris aren't the super nerds Edgar was so that is also a positive.
The overall plot of finding the small nukes is a scary reality but I think this show could have used a strong #2 CTU guy in the field like Tony used to be. I would have liked to see Jack tortured in China a bit more as well at the beginning (even flashbacks although I don't think they've ever done that). I've always loved Pierce on the show and I hope he can be more involved as well.Comment

Re: 24 Season 6 (NO SPOILERS)
I guess I'm one of the few that has though this has been a good season.24 in every season has unrealistic tendencies and I don't see how this years would superseed the president being practically a terrorist himself from last year. I think I'd go with Season 6 over 4 too.
