Desmond has done this before. Maybe he was a part of a group who went through the samething. He was the only one left.

I think Desmond is working for the others and they knew that Locke would go looking for the 3. Desmond thought he already made the speech but it hadnt happened yet so he covered it up. Thats why Hurley had the look on his face at the end of the episode. The flashbacks tied into the story of the episode becuase the cops chose Locke to lead them to the weed just like the others chose Locke to lead them to the 3. But im probably tottaly wrong thats just what i think.

And did anybody see in the airport the bag checker was the leader of the others.(name is escaping me)

10/13 - According to my sources, at least one of the three button men will return to action transformed in such a way that gives him something in common with one of the heroes over on Heroes. Source: Entertainment Weekly

That leads me to believe my theory is wrong and that Desmond has gained the abiltiy to forsee the future but who knows with this show. Partly why i love it

We know Desmond knows what is happening. After reading your theory that Desmond is working with the Others, that makes some sense. Adding my theory, Jack was told he would be free to go if he did what he was asked when the time was right. Which leads to my part, Desmond was in Jack's position, he was told he would be free if he stayed and pushed the button. Desmond knows what is happening because he lived through it the last experiment.

anyone else think maybe Des actually did some time traveling during the explosion? It's part of the theory in the Manhattan project... Also would explain why he's naked... clothes don't travel through time travel, only organic material... would explain why he knew about Locke's speech at least.

Both of these could be right. The whole dynamic with Desmond knowing what's going on opens up a major story arc.

Wow, nothing like debunking someone's theory huh?

I dont need to read spoilers to know a crappy theory when I read one. That is all.

I pray that his theory is right now, just so you can eat crow on that.

By the way, if you don't agree with a theory on this show, just say it, but don't bash someone for it, that's not the way OS works. Got it?

Hmmm, never thought of that. Interesting...

Overall I enjoyed last night's episode. However, I had more "WTF is going on?" moments during that episode than I have in a while.

Maaannn, this show is pissing me off. I did'nt enjoy it because they are just running around in circles if you ask me. Nothing really gets explained, plots keep opening up every 10 minutes and almost nothing makes a lick of sense. Like joeboo...err...mjb said, there were simply to many WTF moments for me to actually get into. Its actually turning into "just another show" to me. They go from reality to mystical in a heartbeat and it just feels fake and forced IMO. I may give a few more goes but if nothing gets explained, I may have to retire.

"Talk to the Island".....give me a break.
