We may look back and say the season finale for Season 3 was the peak of Lost. Carlton and Damon basically gave away the biggest reveal of the show. I'm sure before last night the majority of the viewers were thinking are these people ever going to get off the Island. The final scene last night was something the producers could have used towards the end of the series. While there are still a lot of interesting mysteries left, the biggest one (in some people's eyes) is out of the bag now. While people are still gushing over the amazing finale right now, once everything sinks in, I feel like we will see a lot of people mention what I'm saying in the future.
I imagine it becomes a turning point in the series... we'll begin to have a mixture of flashbacks as well as flash forwards mixed in and it could get to the point that we're never told which is which.

I know one thing I will never ever ever read a episode spoiler again.

I have no idea where they go from here.

It seems that everyone forgot that Kate told Jack that she "has to get back to him" when she left him at the end.

          The "him" could be Sawyer...

I'm thinking of Locke, Michael, or maybe Ben being in the coffin.

asianflow, that's exactly how my wife feels. While she agrees the episode was good, she's extremely disappointed, since she knows that Jack and Kate both get off, that they get rescued, and any sort of peril the two of them face will be pointless (and you KNOW they will have moments of peril over the final three seasons).

I also don't buy that the future can change...I think Jack will get off and wander regretting his decision to leave. I thought him talking about his dad was interesting, since while he saw him dead, he was "on" the island (likely smokey) and the coffin WAS empty.

I'm wondering if the focus will now shift to Desmond further and Locke, who's likely to be the new leader of the Others.

I'm also thinking it could be Michael. The funeral was in a pretty black neighborhood so it could be. And Michael was from New York like the obituary stated. Kate would have a reason not to go as she would be pissed at Michael for shooting Ana-Lucia and Libby.

It would however not explain why Walt didn't show up to the funeral when the man said no one showed up.

So this whole smoke monster thing.....The smoke monster came to Locke in the form of Walt? Why Walt?

Didn't the writers of the show give the impression that Walt may have some psychic powers in season 1? The whole appearance of Walt to Locke seems out of place. Didn't Walt want off the island? So why would he help Locke stay.

The other comment I have is the Hurly VW bus rescue maneuver was cheezy. Smothered in Swiss Cheezy. Last time he needed to have people help him push it down a hill to get it started. And they made the impression that he drove it until the gas was gone, but oh well......

I don't think people would be. Apparently if they're not, people are upset anyway (since they know Jack and Kate get off the Island) so I guess it's a lose-lose situation in your eyes.

I thought getting them off the island was awesome. I'll be mad if it is just a possible future within a Dez flash.

The more I think about it, the more the coffin could be Michael.

                        1) He was depressed before he got on the Island and his life was in the crapper.
His ex-wife died and Walt may be the only person he had left. Something could have easily happened to Walt between the time he got off the <st1>lsland </st1>and the time of Michael’s death which would cause him not to attend. According to some of the Lost fan sites, the newspaper clipping says the man hung himself from a beam in a loft. Perhaps Walt died or disowned him, causing Michael to hang himself.

                        <o></o>

                        2) Jack says, “we have to go back!” and “we need to stop lying” at the end. I strongly believe that most of the Losties are still on the <st1>Island</st1> and that’s why Jack is tearing himself apart inside. Perhaps Kate hates Michael because he was the only other person to get off the <st1>Island</st1> besides Kate and Jack (and Walt too obviously) and because he killed other Losties to get him and Walt off the Island.<o></o>

I certainly have no qualms either way, but apparently some people are PO'd that they know Jack and Kate's fate, or at least they think they know.

I'm convinced that it's not how the series will end.

Walt told Locke back in season 1 that he liked it on the island. In fact, I believe that they were the only two people that admitted that they enjoyed the island and weren't all about getting rescued.

                              Random:

Another 24/Lost shared cast-memember. The dark-haired female in the Looking Glass was a member of CTU who was thought to be a mole and was tortured.

I liked her better with long-hair, but she didn't look too bad last night.
