      Yeah, me too.
What you said the bodyguard said and what he actually said were completely different things though. He was about to tell dave the secret to keeping things fresh but he died. He never said that dave wasn't funny anymore.

Well, right... but he's saying how his material's "getting old", or whatever. I mean, of course they don't mean it... it's just for more laughs. But, I tend to see it as the truth... though I personally think it's been old since Day 1.

I saw The Nutty Professor really late in the game, so I actually saw it after Undercover Brother. And boy, did I get annoyed by him quickly.

But, oh well. Other people like him, and I won't let your guys' enjoyment be ruined by my opinion (and you shouldn't either).

He wasn't saying that it was getting old, he said that people will say that people will always think that the previous season was funnier no matter what he does but he could've helped him out. Anyway, what doesn't make sense to me is that you would come into a thread not knowing what you are talking about and then try to backpedal out of it. You made a stereotypical comment that had nothing at all to do with Dave and I don't understand where you came up with that.

He never said his material getting old....where are you getting this from? LOL. He said that Chappelle got greedy and that no matter what he does people will just say that this season wasnt as good as last season.

Well, if he cannot match/top his previous seasons, then he is out of said material to top it.

Not necessarily, sometimes comedians and sitcoms can go into a rut but get out of it.

A perfect example is Billy Crystal in the mid 90s. He did some rather piss poor movies (well I did like Mr. Saturday Night but that wasn't really comedy) but he got out of that rut with the Analyze this/that movies.

He never said he couldnt top it...He said SOME people will say he couldnt top it. Most people feel like seasons 3-5 were the best Seinfled seasons and that the last season didnt top it. Does that mean that Jerry Seinfeld isnt or wasnt funny?

Come on now, dont be so critical like alot of other ppl are and have been doing. What makes you think a "Comedian" of all ppl can never come up with new material?

Its just that his show became to big, to fast and now everyone wants to write him off like its impossible for him come up with good material. The stigma is that it is impossible to top a masterpiece. Go out and any original form of media(music, games, movies) and tell me if the sequels could never quite match the quality of the original. Its certainly possible, I think many just refuse to believe he's that talented. Which once again, boils down to haterism.

Of course it's haterism. It was my opinion in the first place that he wasn't funny. To whomever made the Seinfeld analogy neglected to mention the fact that he's funny in some people's eyes, and not in others. Everybody has an opinion. Not only that, by I didn't say that his new seasons wouldn't be funny (which, in my opinion, they're not), I just saidf that they wouldn't be AS funny. We can take Family Guy for example... going down the tubes, but still a great show nonetheless. Seth MacFarlane and Dave Chappelle are sort of on the same road... they keep a great fanbase regardless of what they put out now, because of their built-up reputation.
