Yeah the name is odd, but the wifi ability to gain a signal is awesome IMO. Also they said they are coming out with the headphones with the antenna's in the earbuds for better signal reception.

            Re: Sirius Satellite Radio

Hey all, FYI Radio Shack is having $40 off Sirius recievers.

Question: I'm going to get one at RS and am down to the Sportster or the Starmate. Any suggestions, thoughts on which one to get? Pros and Cons of each?

I want to be able to use it in my car, then take it out and use it in my home and then also use in my wifes car if we use her car for trips.

            thanks

Hey Agent. The Sportster replay is much nicer supposedly than the Starmate because you can pause live radio (think DVR with less features) I have the Sirius One (39.99) and love it. The Starmate home kit works with it and is also 39.99. It's more than enough radio for me, and is small enough where I can take it into my car, into my wife's car, and into the house with no problems. Make sure when you set it up if you're using the FM transmitter, to set it to a channel that has NO channels around it. I set it up initially on a channel with a real station close to it and got interference at home. I've sinced changed it to a channel with little interference and can now listen anywhere in my yard, house, etc with no interference.

actually never have used any of those.. I have had two Xact units (just changed over to the "visor" one for my car & home)...

abates, mainly I use 88.5.. however I notice on some long trips that the station gets a little "static-y" but not too bad.. i usually go with that or one of the high-end stations (in the 100's)..

I switched to 95.1 ABates and I can now listen to it in any room in the house and leave the radio in the car.

how are you listening to it in the house, do you just have it hooked up to some speakers with the home kit or what?

LOL, that would be perfect. Leave it in the car and still be able to use it in your home.

You guys know when the new Sportster4 and the pther new plug and plays will be in stores? I might hold off and get one of the next generation models that they just announced.

I've had to borrow my mom's Calibre to commute to work with because my car needs some work done. She has Sirius in her car and I think it sucks. I don't know why anyone would pay for it (its free for the first year for her) when it cuts out from time to time as if it were an AM station.
