I thought it was one of the best yet. Maybe Matt can move in with Buddy and Lyla and be Jason's backup.

It looks like Tyra will be back in a big way next week. I had to watch the preview for next week again to make sure it wasn't Coach Taylor slapping his wife. It also appears that Jason and family are suing Taylor next week. They need 2 hours for this show with so many storylines.

I think the stuff with Matt and his grandmother is great. It looks like that is going to come to an end next week. I would bet that his dad will decide to stay home.

They have written an out for the show with Coach going to UT as well. We all know how it's going to end, but it's fun to watch.

I agree. This was an excellent episode that raised so many interesting questions:

1. Will Lyla and Street truly reunite?
2. Can Street get over the fact he can't get his rocks off with Lyla?
3. Will Coach Taylor pursue the Texas quarterbacks' coach job?
4. Will Saracen and his dad find agreement about grandma?
5. What about the interesting dynamic between Landry and Riggins? Probably just a one-episode thing, but it was pretty cool to see the heavy metal geek interact and teach a lesson to the jock.

We also saw the first indication of how much Taylor's daughter cares for Saracen.

I thought there were plenty of dramatic moments last night. Did anyone else notice that the show is moving away from the frenetic, handheld camera style? I never minded that, but I know it bothered some people.

The director is still using good close-ups and different angles to create a unique look and feel for the show, even though the handheld shots appear to be fading away.

"Friday Night Lights" is a great show that's showing no signs of creative letdown.

You don't think the strong critic reviews the show is getting will be enough to keep it around for another season?

Man, that would be truly disappointing if this is the one and only season of FNL.

Lol, I had to watch the preview for next week multiple times as well to see if that was Coach Taylor.

I have to admit, this show has so many different story lines. They really can make each show very interesting. I mean take yesterday for example - there was so much going on, they didn't even have to go into Smash and steroids for the week.

I wouldnt be so quick to say that. I doubt that NBC will cancel every new show (except for heroes) this year. So far, they cancelled Kidnapped and that Jeffrey Tambor/ John Lithgow show. I see them keeping FNL and 30 rock and cancelling Studio 60. Studio 60 is much more expensive to produce than FNL and NBC is looking to cut costs.

What does the Wednesday comp look like?

I think its House, King of Queens and According to Jim.

The early ratings came in and FNL scored a 4.4. Which is about the same it was doing on Tuesday.
