Lets hope those ratings are up for tonights show!

I'm looking forward to tonight's episode, especially after they skipped last week.

How am I the first to comment on this week's episode?

Overall it was good, the character development is amazing in this show.

Very smart move getting it away from the "American Idol" buzzsaw. Proves that NBC really cares about this show and wants it to work.

Last night's show was great. Street really is toughening and becoming a hard man. And how about the girl confessing that her Panther wanted her to do a three-way?

            Take care,

              Re: Friday Night Lights show

I enjoyed last night as well, but the Street storyline is probably my least favorite. Lyla is hot, but I can't stand hearing her cry. Riggins and Saracen are my favorite characters on the show.

I've tried getting a few other people to watch the show, with no luck. I usually able to get people to watch shows like I did with Heroes and The Class this year, and How I Met Your Mother last year, but I can't get people interested in this show. My wife tried to watch it with me a couple times, but she and a co-worker can't stand the camera style, which I understand, I don't like it either. It takes a real good movie or show for me to put up with this camera style, not sure why it is so popular. Others that I tried to get to watch it gave up after the pretty vanilla pilot thinking it was all stuff they've seen before. Hopefully this show will get good buzz around the time the first season hopefully comes out on DVD to pick up more viewers next year. This is actually the only show I watch that I don't know anybody else personally that is watching it.

                Re: Friday Night Lights show

I've said this before, but I really hope this show gets the "West Wing effect" when the Emmy nominations are announced.

"The West Wing" had a slow start ratings-wise in its first season, although not nearly as sluggish as "Friday Night Lights," but it gained a ton of momentum and viewers when it was nominated for Emmy Awards in its first season. It was almost as if people said, "Man, we should check this out if this show is that good."

I'm hoping that "Lights" gets some Emmy nominations and that they generate more interest. The show is certainly Emmy-worthy, and it would be criminal if the show disappeared after one season.

                Take care,

Man I started this thread but since the pilot I haven't seen a single episode. I have all the episodes on my computer but I haven't found the time to watch them.

I read an article that they are going to go away from the camera style and give it a more typical dramatic look in upcoming episodes.

up to 4.1, they just can't compete with NCIS.

I have one question, why is Buddy Garrity there? He just seems to mess up everything and he's really annoying. And was he in the movie?

Garrity is Lyla's dad, a prominent car dealer in town. He's just the stereotypical "big honch" businessman in town who played high school football in that town and now meddles with the current team because deep-down he thinks he can do everything better than Coach Taylor.

Coach Taylor can't tell Garrity to f*ck off because of Garrity's pull in town and because of his booster money, which helps build facilities, buy equipment, buy program ads, etc. A real Catch-22. Most small towns have a Buddy Garrity, unfortunately.

I didn't see the movie, so I don't know if the Garrity character was in there.

I'd like to rip Buddy, but any guy who spawns a chick as hot as Lyla is OK, I guess.

                              Take care,
