I like both of these shows very much. When they were both on I liked Friends more because it had ongoing storylines and I thought it was a little funnier. Now that both are all over syndication, I usually watch Seinfeld more because their episodes are more standalone and good for a quick laugh.

Sadly, i'll admit I put Friends. To be fair though, just recently i've been wathcing Seinfeld(first time ever) and am enjoying it. I like/love both but there was no option for that.Comment

I liked both, but i'm not a "Friends is the best ever" or a "OMG, Seinfeld gives me a hardon" person at the same time...Seinfeld is really hilarious, but sometimes I think people work it up too muchNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Seinfeld or Friends?
Seinfeld hands down...I bring Seinfeld quotes into my everyday life on a daily basis (sorry to all my friends and family members).
Friends was pretty solid for the most part though. A very good show- just not at Seinfeld's level IMO.Comment

Re: Seinfeld or Friends?
One thing about Seinfeld that has made it so popular IMO is that it was a show for its time but at the same time it trancended the era in which it was originally aired in. If you look at all the great tv shows in history you'll notice most of them are very watchable today because the writing is so good or the core elements are still relevent today.
That is the case with Seinfeld.
Friends OTOH was very much driven by the time period and fads etc etc. Just look at the amount of episodes in which they used "famous" guest stars and tons of references to events at the time. It really dates the show horribly as the years go on.
Everybody Loves Raymond is in the Seinfeld category of timeless show as it was a throwback to the 50s style of sitcoms. If you notice most scenes are very long and the story takes a while to get going. The pacing on Raymond is a lot like the pacing of older television. It also didn't bother too much with the events going on around the world but rather dealt with things everyone has experienced at one time or another.
It's not in Seinfeld's class but it's definitely in its league.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Well I am sure they can't all be as good as MTV Cribs! lol Also on another note Cheers is a really funny show. That and Fraiser, those shows make made laugh so hard a cry and that is not easy. lmaoComment

Fraiser was a very good show but the last couple or so years I think the writers got too full of themselves with the high brow humor to the point where the show became UNfunny.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
