Re: Studio 60: On the Sunset Strip
I liked this espisode.
I don't have a lot to say about it, but it was enjoyable and believable.
The Capital One guy had one appearance, for about 3 seconds. It's nice to see they kept him on.Enjoy football? Enjoy Goal Line Blitz!Comment

Re: Studio 60: On the Sunset Strip
I thought tonight was a good episode, I am still really enjoying the chemistry between the cast, several funny lines, i dont know why but the bear thing legitimately cracked me up the last time when it got pitched to Matt, and I know a lot of people don't seem to like her, but i'm enjoying amanda peet on the show still, i think her character is amusing. As a fan of Sports Night tho, I'm a little worried this show is gonna have the same fate, too funny to not be a comedy, but not funny at all times like a comedy should be...anyone else get this feeling, especially if they remember what happened to SN back in the day?Comment

Re: Studio 60: On the Sunset Strip
I have a question about this show, the guy from Wings, what is his job with NBS on this show? Amanda Peet is the president, but he bosses her around all the time and everyone seems scared of him. Is he the head chairman of the board or something?
Atlanta Braves - Auburn Tigers - Nashville Predators

Re: Studio 60: On the Sunset Strip
I agree...both this and SportsNight were dramedies, and I hope the general public can get hooked on Studio 60, as opposed to SportsNight, which was critically acclaimed but just didn't get the viewers (a shame it didn't go longer IMO). I'm really liking Studio 60, and that fact alone scares me for its future. Shows I like tend to get cancelled lol.Comment

Re: Studio 60: On the Sunset Strip
Seriously, Sorkin's writing is so clever and snappy -- even if it's too staccato at times -- that the average American just glazes over when he hears it. Yes, America is too dumb for this show.
The snappy dialogue worked on "The West Wing" because that show gave us a supposed insider's look at the White House, a place that fascinates many Americans. I don't think most Americans are that fascinated with the inside workings of a late-night live skit show.

Well, it's not a cop show, reality show, crime show or medical drama, so America probably won't have a long taste for it, sadly.

Re: Studio 60: On the Sunset Strip
Do you guys think ratings have the same hold on networking they used to have? I only ask because of things like tivo and dvr, that i think a lot more people are watching shows then those ratings will reflect. Yes i realize ads are what make the money, and people who record the shows are more likely to fast forward thru them...but do you think that is taken into account at all?Comment
