I really think there won't be an answer to that question.

This season won't have anymore future episodes and I'm sure the season finale will rid the Heroes of that terrible time line. Season two will concentrate on something new.

Unless, of course, they decide to answer that question in the Season Finale. I just doubt it because it doesn't make sense with his ability to heal.

Maybe Peter dies when he explodes and linderman brings him back to life with his powers.

We still don't know Mama Petrelli's power yet... maybe she did something for him after he blew up....

          The plot thickens.

What about Ted? When he's radioactive, and about to go nuclear, was he really in danger of himself? Because Peter will have Ted's capability somehow at the end.

In any case, I really don't think Peter will die from exploding, his regenerative ability is enough to keep him from getting annihilated.

Perhaps Peter willingly keeps the scar as a sign of his guilt though, his complicity in the events that led to Nathan pinning the blame of the bomb on Sylar when it really was Peter. Maybe the scar was because Peter developed a guilty conscience, and that's why he soured on the whole Hero idea for a while before he chose to do something noble again.

Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM)

Only 3 episodes left... seems Heroes is trying to avoid the pitfall that 24 has fallen into by keeping the theme but eschewing the characters and storylines:

Tim Kring, creator of NBC’s hit series Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that the upcoming second season will constitute a new volume in the multi-volume series, with new characters and an entirely new storyline. If you remember, the opening of the pilot pronounced the episode as the beginning of Volume One, Kring said in an interview. Volume One comes to a conclusion at the end of episode 23, and Volume Two starts with the opening of season two. And Volume Two is a different story.

If they can wrap this show up in 3 episodes, I'd be impressed and saddened.

Although, it does sound like the way to go....

But that would mean no more Hayden. Now I'm sad.

I wonder how many of the original characters will return for Season Two.

I wouldn't be surprised if the new season is made up of entirely new characters set in a different part of the United States.

Perhaps it could lead to a Marvel Universe type feel with super heroes living in different portions of the world/universe (though, I don't envision Heroes stepping outside of the comforts of Earth).

hmm ok any predictions on which of the Heroes dies?

Sylar would definitely go down but not before taking some of the heroes powers but who?

Perhaps we already found out who might be gone.

Unless there are dramatic changes in how Hiro and the rest stop Peter from blowing up, Nathan might not survive.

Seems like Sylar got to him. We can probably assume DL and Micah are gone as well. No word on Mr. Invisible, but then again he can pop up whenever he wants and play the, "I've been here the whole time" card.

We didn't see Nathan's mom, but I'm assuming she died in the explosion so she might live if there isn't one.

I won't continue because it's all speculation. Fun to talk about, though.

If he can't regenerate with a piece of glass in his head, how does he regenerate after being blown to pieces? I guess he just gives off energey as opposed to actually exploding?

Nikki/Jessica's husband is good as dead...Maybe even her son. Their storyline is going nowhere and has been the only downside to season one.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't think he gets blown to pieces when he "explodes", he just gives off enough energy that's the equivalent of an atomic blast. He has to have some mechanism to keep from succumbing to his own radioactive body, which pretty much nobody else has other than Claire and Peter.

Of course, I'm probably wrong, but I would find it hard to believe that his own power could be his own worst enemy in this manner.

I'd like to see Peter, Hiro and Suresh return, as they seem like the most likely candidates. Suresh most likely will return as a central figure, IMHO, because he's the one who deals with the whole Heroes concept. I think Linderman will be back as well. I think Peter will end up being offscreen for most of the next season, coming in when things get out of hand. Since he's a "God" figure, I think that would be the best way to effectively use him, sort of as a wandering yogi who comes in at the nick of time to help out. His role in the future storyline pretty much hints at this, I think. Perhaps he'll carry the weight of the world on his shoulders and be somewhat of a vagrant, somewhat detached from everything as a result of what goes on in the final 3 eps of the season.
