This movie looks awesome, I got pumped watching the trailer, it is a huge plus for me that its based off of FM's work.

I am a huge FM fan.

BTW, this thread will be dead and deeply buried by the time this flick actually comes out in march of next year.

Saw the trailer when I saw the Departed and thought it looked amazing.

We just learned about this very battle, and the Spartan culture, in western civ last week...and I've learned a bunch of the quotes in Latin class.(The arrow's blocking out the sun quote, for instance)

Can't wait to see this one.

Those people LIVED to fight. Fascinating story behind the Spartan Culture.

Do you know how many awful Charlotte Church videos I had to sit through before I found the one that matched your avatar? I spent over an hour on Youtube.

Wow, the one sign that I haven't been to the movies much in the past few months is that I didn't see this trailer until today when I was looking around on the Quicktime trailers site. This is a definite must-watch for me.

                        Wait, that's Charlotte Church?!

Wow. I knew she was cute then, but I had no idea what she grew up to become.

BTW I heard the movie Ronin was based on a Graphic Novel of his. I hope the GN was a lot better if that was the case. There's nothing wrong with the movie per se. It's a pretty good time waster but I dunno....
The DeNiro flick? That wasn't related to the GN whatsoever. The book was badass, about a Samurai warrior who was transplanted to the future. I read that the guy who created the cartoon Samurai Jack based the character on Miller's Ronin.

Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield provides a great historical fiction account of Thermopylae to read while waiting for 300.
