You gotta read his post again...a little bit slower.

He's saying that DooLittle and Lakisha are 2 great contestants and Sparks and Edwards are 2 solid ones.

What's going to be a shame is either DooLittle or Lakisha are going to be voted off way before they should be (happens every year....Latoya London sticks out in my mind). Regardless, both are going to sign nice contracts afterwards. Ironically, from what I've read, NOT winning American Idol is better for one's career than winning it (from a monetary standpoint).

        You're a stripper? J/k, couldn't pas up.

Yeah every year it seems somone is voted off before they really should be. Tamyra Grey, George Huff, Latoya London, Jenifer Hudson, etc. But I really don't see it happening this year. Like someone said, there are only two viable candidates this year and that's Melinda and Lakisha. Jordan Sparks is the wild card, but I think those other two will be there at the end.

for all the sanjaya haters out there check this out.

Preview a few of them, and preview his. They are CD quality mp3s from this past week performances. He is better than people give him credit for.

I think as someone as said, the problem is not necessarily his 'talent', but that the fact that when put in front of any sort of audience that he becomes horrendous. The same can be said for Brendan, when the audience and spotlight grew he crumbled, probably the reason he was never more than a backup singer.

I think many of us realize that he can sing...he proved that during the auditions. However his stage presence stinks. His performances on the show are way behind the remaining contestants.

I remember that she did come out with an album, but it was weak and very contrary to the image she had on Idol. I remember watching her video with her in hot pants, just shaking my head at the waste. That was a couple of years ago and I haven't seen or heard anything from her since. The video was on Yahoo's Launch but has since been taken down.

Can't believe Sanjaya is still around the kid is flat out awful. His looks and voice reminds me of an Indian Micheal Jackson. Should have never ever made the top 12. Only good thing is watching every time he should be eliminated the shocked look on his face that he has to perform another week.

I think that NOT winning thing is overrated. Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are the biggest Idol winners. Jennifer Hudson sang her way to an Oscar, so that's the only argument against what I guess I'm going to say.

From a monetary standpoint, I'd say the endorsements that come from winning Idol are a lot and with the exception of Clay Aiken, Jennifer Hudson and Chris Doughtry, who's gone on to bigger things despite having NOT won?

Tamyra Grey has done bunk...and she is talented.

Hudson sang her way to an Oscar (crap...IMO) and finally lost some weight. If she were attractive during her Idol run, she'd have won.
The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further!

From what I've read, the Idol winners are tied to a pretty horrible contract and those that don't have to sign that contract, can make more money and obviously have more freedom as to where they want their career to go. Basically a lot of the endorsement money that is made off of the AI winner, isn't even given to the AI winner. It's put back into AI and/or the handlers. According to one published report, up to 50% of an AI winners earnings are taken from them by Simon Fuller and company.

I'm not saying it's true as I don't know the details of these contracts, nor does anyone else around here, but it makes a lot of sense. Frankly, AI would be crazy NOT to put a lot of stipulations into the contract and NOT to take out as much money as they could.

It's not just the winner that's tied to a contract, others are as well, not sure if it's top 10 or top 12 or what, but I do know Chris Daughtry is contracted to American Idol. I've read a lot about his cd and people saying it's pretty "pop" like because of his contract with AI and his next album will be more hard rock.

Interesting. I just saw an article that stated Aiken hired an attorney to get him out of the contract. Mario Vasquez did the same thing and hired the same attorney (he quit AI a few years ago after he was in the top 10 or so because he wanted out of the contract). I guess the contract must be pretty brutal, but the publicity the contestants get can't be beat.
