What I do get, however, is that Gwen Stefani, when not going crazy with her looks or outfits, is hot. And I know I will probably go to jail for this, but there is something about Jordin.

COSIGN! She is really attractive when she's not all glammed up and whored out. Maybe somewhere along the line she'll reinvent a classier version of herself kind of like Christina Aguilera has emerged from her "Dirty" phase. But Gwen is really, really attractive without all the other BS.

I also don't get the "voting for the worst" thing. There are shows on TV that I hate, but I'm not going to waste my time dialing a telephone for an hour just so I can "ruin" those shows for their fans. But it just proves how stupid Stern's fans are.

Perfect comparison. I thought Aguilera looked so much better in her "Genie in the Bottle" video as compared to her "Dirty" phase. I also thought Gwen looked incredible last night as compared to some of her other video's where she's all glammed up.

Interesting theory. I was also struck by the same two things in Europe (the smoking and the thinness). And for what it's worth, John Popper has actually slimmed down a lot (following health issues of course) to the point where he looks normal-sized now.

I don't think there's a direct connection between Chris's tempo problems and his weight though. Lakisha's a big girl and she moves and grooves around the stage and stays in the pockets of the songs, as have other fat contestants in previous years. There are definitely some stamina issues, but Chris was out of touch with the beat of that song from the start of it.

In general though, AI has been pushing the "it's ok to be fat" stance since Ruben won. To me, part of being an "American Idol" is taking care of your body enough to not be obese. But obviously not everyone subscribes to that theory....

Well, what strikes me is that they are gaining weight as the season goes on. Usually American Idol kind of "makes over" people. Kelly Clarkson was kind of doughy at the beginning. They usually wax things and fix things... but they clearly don't have these people with a nutricianist, because they are getting bigger.

That's true. If their schedule was the daily grind that they say it is and if they get as little sleep as they say they do, one would think that would have a slimming effect. Who knows.

American Idol has made me appreciate those pop stars who do possess the total package, like a Christina Aguilera or a Kelly Clarkson who have great pipes and are also very attractive. Right now the only female contestants who meet that criteria are Sparks and Haley, one of whom stinks and the other of whom is just a kid.

When all is said and done, I think Blake Lewis will have the best career in music out of the top 10.

I agree with the Blake Lewis comment. Of the Top 10, he is presently the only one I would by a CD from.

As for the attractiveness of the girls, in her own way Gina is pretty hot, but definitely not in the Kelly Clarkson/Christina Aguilera mold.

Sanjaya will never get the benifit of the doubt from those who are against him. I thought his performance last night was good. Sure his wacky hair got a lot of attention but if you get past that, his rhythm in the chorus was good. I just wish hed speak up. I bet this will sound really good once americanidol's website releases the mp3 cd quality version in a few days much like his version of "aint no mountain high enough"

Tonight its starting to really look like 1 of 2 people are going home. Chris Sligh or Haley Scarnato. I personally like Haley (beyond how gorgeous she is) and hope she stays.

I liked Blake last night. I thought both Chris Sligh and Chris Richardson were poor. I also thought Sanjaya was poor, but that goes without saying. Haley wasn't very good either compared to Gina, Melinda, Lakisha and Jordan.

I think this season has been the poorest to date. When you get to the top 10 there should be some incredible talent in there. I only see star potential out of about 4 of them.

Chris S
Chris R
Haley

Chris Sligh goodbye! He butchered the song last night.

its hard to judge these things because its opinon and style taste related. For opinion, id rather listen to chris sligh all day over lakisha and melinda since I hate hearing the same boring crap, with the same style, same songs and same expressions. It feels like Melinda could go up there and sing out of her *** and would still get praised as the greatest, and still have that "you just won a million dollars" look on her face.

I dont think Sanjaya is making a joke of it to be honest. It seems like it, but i think hes just running with the hair style thing. Thats his schtic, a new style every week. At first I thought his song choice was horrible, but ive changed my opinion of that completely. I thought Sanjaya's song choice was brilliant if it was symbollic.
