Hmmm. Interesting article. Kinda funny that they never really mentioned offering him a contract though. I smell the William Hung Syndrome here. Someone with zero talent but is a novelty with personality and or a face that everyone knows. Maybe Mali can go on tour with William and join up for "She bang".
The attention he's getting is really no surprise being the music industry is strictly business. I'd milk it for all I could if I were in his shoes. If I were him,I'd even look into an acting career.

Agreed, He has the makings of something but he's literally starting from scratch. I do think with the right training he could be something.

Anywho, It'll be interesting to see if he actually wins. I want to see Simon quit the show on principle LOL

There is no way that happens. The producers will take matters into their own hands if it is even close. Remember, they don't release voting figures, and they are in complete control of who stays and who goes.

Yes well, I wouldn't want to be the producers when vote fixing is exposed. They dodged a bullet with the Paula Abdul thing but that kind of thing where the will of the people is suppressed then the show is going to lose any credibility it has at this point.

Seriously, man, compared to Joe Schmoe, he's average-above average. He's probably good enough to sing at a neighborhood church.

In this competition, however, I just can't name one singer that he's better than. The next worst singer left is at least three notches better than he is.

You posted that MSNBC article stating about everything else that's good about him: his charm, his cuteness, his hair, his young girl appeal....... that's what is hot about him. I'll live with that.

But comparatively speaking, in this competition, his singing simply doesn't match up to the other contestants. Maybe listening to Melinda and Chris R. and then listening to Sanjaya makes him sound even worse. He's not THAT bad, but he's not that good, either.

If his singing level was on the level of, say, Blake Lewis........ he and Melinda would be consistently leading the votes every week, I'm sure of that.

This season looks like it'll produce a broadway performing winner. I can't see Melinda Doolittle lighting up the billboard charts with a hit. She doesn't have the look that accompanies that type of thing. I could EASILY see her starring on broadway or something, but she doesn't look like your typical "pop"/RB star...I don't know if her awkwardness (when not singing) helps...

I can see Jordin being a moderate star. She has pop appeal and she's cute. All they'd need to do is trim the baby fat.

Her dad played for the G-Men, so she's alright with me. And yeah, she needs to tone up and it'll be all good (aging will help her I think)...
