Toshiba's Mike Eves wackily compares format war to fuel

Reportedly, the company's retail marketing executive for its consumer products division told Pocket-Lint that the "HD DVD / Blu-ray battle is like petrol versus diesel at the pumps," and somewhat clarified his thoughts by asserting that "both would probably exist together rather than a single format winning out."

I see this format war lasting longer than any of us can imagine at this point unless something earth shattering occurs. I see HD-DVD and BluRay having the same format war as DVDR + - war where both have co-existed. Very bad analogy there, but its how I see it.

            Agreed.

I wouldn't be surprised if it extends until 2009. There are too many variables that will keep both in it for a while.

Cyber Sunday Amazon HD-DVD Deal B2G1

Kind of similar to the one from this weekend, just much less titles to choose from.

BTW, I ordered on Friday or Saturday (can't remember) and received my 3 HD-DVD's today. That was ultra quick shipping.

CRANK hits HD DVD next week in Europe. Which means Xploited should have soon also.

If I didn't have Crank, Reservoir Dogs, and SAW III on BD already, those would be getting ordered. Let me know how Crank is on HD-DVD if you get it.

                              Hey guys, quick question

Any recommendations for a good HDMI cable to get for the A3? I'll also need another to run from the 605 to my TV, so I need some ideas!

I can't wait to pick up the Onkyo and the A3 when I go home.
