Hey guys, quick question

Any recommendations for a good HDMI cable to get for the A3? I'll also need another to run from the 605 to my TV, so I need some ideas!

I can't wait to pick up the Onkyo and the A3 when I go home.

got a 10" HDMI cable from monoprice.com for less than $9 shipped. they are pretty cheap now

All I know is that I regret wasting a whole of a lot of $$$ on some cables in the past now

For 26 bucks (including shipping), I got two 10' HDMI 1.3 cables and two digital audio coax cables. This was great

BTW, I ordered on Friday or Saturday (can't remember) and received my 3 HD-DVD's today. That was ultra quick shipping.

Same here. Came from DHL instead of UPS.

A Scanner Darkly looks sweet. I watched it awhile ago, but seeing it a second time helped me enjoy it a lot more. It's not really a dense film (to me), just one that vibes better on repeated viewings. If that makes sense.

HD DVD Promo Group: HD DVD Player Sales Top 750,000

A combined total of over 750,000 standalone set-top players and Xbox 360 HD DVD players have now been sold through to consumers.

That's according to a just-issued press release from the HD DVD Promotions Group, clearly timed to signal continued momentum for the high-def disc format following a series of highly publicized Black Friday sales.

The 750,000 number comes only weeks after reports that the HD DVD camp would soon nearing the 500,000 mark for total standalone sales. (That earlier number did not include sales of Microsoft's Xbox 360 HD DVD player.)

"HD DVD continues to gain momentum and market share with consumers," said Ken Graffeo, co-president of the HD DVD Promotional Group. "With more than four weeks left for holiday shopping, HD DVD is turning out to be a perfect consumer electronics gift."

WOW! That is a lot when compared to BD SAL players.

If HD-DVD group is smart, drop the price down to $99 again for a few days with the A3 and watch how crazy more people go to get one of these players. This war is in their hands to win this Christmas, but how they play their next move can either help them win or it just stays a stalemate yet again.

Warner in an interview did say they were looking at SAL player numbers before they even think of going exclusive to anyone. Could this be what their looking at?

I wouldn't do that. You'd piss off a lot of A2 customers who just bought the device a week or two ago.

I finally got around to watching the Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds Live from Radio City bluray and WOW. The best sound I've heard yet on a HD disc and I don't even have a surround sound system yet. It sounded (and looked) absolutely amazing. If you are even close to being a fan, you need to pick it up.

Since that looked so good, I decided to ask for the Incubus bluray for Christmas. Hopefully it'll look and sound just as good. According to the Highdefdigest review, it should.

Well, I got my HD DVD player today from Amazon, but I was under the impression that it came with the HDMI cable. However, it does not.

Do I need a certain HDMI cable that is compatible with the A3 player, or will any HDMI cable do? I've looked online, and they range in price from like $10 to in the hundreds. Is there a big difference in cables? Thanks.
