I haven't listened to Sirius in weeks and I have no idea why. Im considering cancelling it just because I don't ever use it anymore. I still love listening to Stern, but for some reason I just never get around to it. I just listen to my ipod all the time now.

DOH! Looks like I'm going to have to buy something to listen at home then.

OHHHH. If you cancel it, let me know what you want for the Stiletto. I'd kill to have one of those.

            Re: Satellite Radio

Okay...since my damn work has now blocked Sirius and XM online, I need one of those boomboxes to take to work with me(plus I would love to listen to Stern at night while I am laying down) do I need anything extra with the boom boxes? I wasn't able to find much info on the net. Do I need an antenna or they come with them?

            Any help would be appreciated.

I believe they come with one, my dad has a boombox where the antenna sits on top of the boombox and it also detaches if you ever need to move it for better reception.

Would a boombox work in a room with no windows? I'd love to take Sirius into work with me, but I work in a lab that is above ground, but has no windows at all.

Also, is anything ever going to come out of the Sirius/XM merger? Is that still on?

How are the handhelds? I think that might be a better route than a boom box.

Do they work pretty much anywhere, IE home, office?

I have the XM inno, and i freakin take it everywhere. They even sell an adapter to put it in the xm roady boombox ( which i also have when i owned a roady xt).

I get reception everywhere i go. My big concern was not being able to get it at the gym, but even there it works great.

My wife has been nagging me to get her the sirius equivalent, but when she tried it out at CC, it cut out every few seconds. It all depends on location and how many service towersyou have near you.

                    YMMV

People are expecting it to happen, but no one knows for sure till end of year/beginning of next year.

It would be pretty cool if they combined the two into one offering...I'm starting to be tempted by Satellite radio. My commute is longer 3 days a week so I'd be more likely to use it, though for a couple months I'll be happy with my iPod. I'll have to keep an eye on this.

a few observations i have made regarding the two services, since i have both.

-Xm has better technology ( more mature, works better IMO)
-sirius, alot of their radio stations play better music than xm( for example, the 80's channel on sirius is better, as is their big hair band station and new wave, though xm has lucy and fred which play alternative and it absolutely rocks).

-depending on who you are a fan of, you got howard on one end and you have the boys on the other( ron and fez kick major *** as well).
-sports packages dont work for me. NFL over the radio does nothing since i rather watch on tv. with xm and baseball, i only listen when the marlins play in the afternoons.

everything else is pretty even no matter which service you have.

I got xm about 3 years ago and havent looked back since. I forgot what AM/FM sound like.

I had Sirius for 3 years. I have XM now since it came with my new vehicle and is integrated into my navigation unit. I prefer Sirius though. They have better Hip/Hop and Rock/Metal stations IMO. Comedy channels are better on Sirius too.

XM has Coast to Coast as well correct? I would love to for the merger to happen, get a handheld one and record coast to coast every night so I could listen to Stern and coast to Coast while at work.
