Apple has announced that the previously pay-for feature "Find my iPhone" is now free to anyone that owns an iPhone4.
Of course, you need the new iOS update, which was released to the general public today. Developers have had access to it for a while and I can tell you it is indeed pretty stable on an iPhone4 (and iPad).
If you're not a mobileme subscriber, than this is going to be awesome for you. You can track your iPhone if it is ever stolen or lost... free.
so, how does this find my iphone feature work? is it through itunes? (excuse my newbness with mobileme)
I think you have to have iOS 4.2 which just came out. I can't get it to work either and I do NOT have it yet.
Uhg, made the mistake of plugging my phone into a computer with no music. So of course the genius software automatically syncs my phone and deletes all music off of my phone.

that happened to my old ladies phone lol (and the music is on our computer). i dont know why that happened. but now she has to add them all back. weird!!
I know it seems like a petty complaint but after my cousin (who owns an iPhone 4) told me about the new update, he showed me some of the new things including the 17 new text/alert tones that were added.
Later that night, when I got home, I plugged in my iPhone 3GS to install the update and noticed the new tones were nowhere to be found. After searching around on Google I found that the new tones were an iPhone 4 exclusive (though the Apple website makes it seem like all iPhones would receive said tones).
Just a petty complaint but I am disappointed in this. I was looking forward to some fresh new sounds.
LG 77CX OLED / Sonos Arc Soundbar / Xbox Series X / Apple TV 4K
I guess they're just trying to get people to upgrade to the newest version of the iPhone, because I can't see any technical reason why the new sounds couldn't be pushed to older sets.
