Can you explain the steps you use?

When a new OS update comes out, do you click 'restore' in iTunes first, then update it? Or do you update it then 'restore' it?

And when it asks for back up for settings, do you use iPhone as 'new'? And then reset everything all up?

A list of order would be greatly appreciated, since I restored after 6 gave issues, and still had issues, then rolled back to 5.1.1 issue free. So my apps are not on here anymore anyhow, thus I can do this in the steps you provide with no loss.

I just back up my phone first (in case something goes wrong during restore), then click restore, then set it up as a new phone when it gets to that point.

That sums it up. I updated. Then, I went into Setting > General > Reset > Erase All Content and settings. Then while I'm setting up the phone, when I get to that point I select Setup as new phone or whatever it says.

You do this before you update right? Well I guess if a new update comes out, it applies it during the restore. So you click restore to update the phone and not update.

Yup, that's what I do.

Yep, that's what I did last night. It actually don't take long for that. Logging back into everything is the worst but I only have 33 apps downloaded so it's not TOO bad.

Well I don't have to do it this was, i just choose to.

Doesn't take long to get the apps back on, since they're already on my computer via iTunes.

Logging into apps again doesn't bother me. I don't worry about getting them all set up at once, I'll just log in when I go to use the app if I need to.

I restored in 5.1.1 for now, with the iCloud back-up I made yesterday, and it is re-downloading all my apps and putting them in the right layout.

I will hold off on 6 for a bit till it is ironed out. I could have just had dumb luck where that authentication never activated on both phones so it was stuck in 'unable to connect' mode for everything. When Apple releases an update I will do the "fresh start" method.
