May have been discussed for the folks with the 4 and no ability to upgrade due to the stupid losing unlimited data plans anyone notice that week lost the YouTube app during update.

Jerks didn't tell me that I would have never downloaded the update if I knew I was losing the YouTube app.

Google has it's own Youtube app you can download. Just sign in and you will still have all your playlists and favorites.

Yup, this. It's also much, much better than the crappy YouTube app that hadn't been changed since the iPhone was first released.

I had been using the HTML5 web app for the longest time, anyway, since you were able to get better picture quality and faster streaming from it.

Also, there's a really slick third party YouTube app called Jasmine that you guys should check out. It's also an iPad app, which is great because YouTube hasn't released an iPad version of it's new app.

I assume Jasmine I can search on iPhone but I'm lost on how to find the google YouTube app. I tried and found nothing is there a link.

Just open up the app store on your phone and type Jasmine or Youtube.

Better screen, better camera optics, better wireless capability...

I honestly don't know what some people expect from a phone. It's a phone.

You can't say it's just a phone. That's not in the context, especially nowadays have phones outperform some laptops. It's not just a phone when it cost more than my rent or a car payment.

It is still a phone. You don't have to have an iPhone. If you want laptop features out of a phone just because they "out perform" some laptops you're buying it for the wrong reason.

Regardless of how simple these phones make our lives, they are still meant to be phones at the end of the day and there are other ways to get through our day. It is recently that people started depending their lives on these phones to get through but you don't need an iPhone or Android if you need a phone. There are more affordable options than the iPhone.

The iPhone is a premium device so you will pay a premium price. If it doesn't offer what you like, don't buy it, but at the end of the day, it is still a phone.

I disagree War Eagle. If we were simply buying these as phones, we wouldn't make decisions based off LTE, ram memory, and download speeds. No we don't need all that, but we're definitely spending money for all of that.

Pared, I didn't have any expectations. I didn't follow any of the rumors or keep up w/ any of the news. I also wasn't trying to be specific to the iPhone. I was just saying for that much money, regardless of the item, I want to be wowed. If not, on to the next one. Or, I guess I'm staying w/ the current one.

My point isn't that we aren't buying them as more than phones, but if a phone doesn't do what want you have the decision to make another choice. Don't complain about what Android doesn't have or iPhone doesn't have, just make the choice that suits you best because that's why they are out there so we have a choice.

Not much will be perfect, so we have to pick and choose what we can and can't live with, I just don't get the point of coming into an iPhone discussion thread and ask why they don't have this feature and Android does and vice versa, if you want a certain feature get the phone that has that feature if it means that much to you or wait until it's adopted by whichever device.

Also, i'm curious as to what would "wow" you? Android, iPhone or Windows? I think all three platforms are doing amazing things right now.

I don't remember comparing android or iPhone. Just talking about the update. Everything else I agree w/.

I'm "wowed" by the S3 and the note something. Even if the size of that thing is ridiculous.

I have no issues w/ my 4 at all. I just have an upgrade coming up and was just curious if the 5 was worth the money and losing my unlimited data plan.

I was holding my wife's 4S and you can really tell how much heavier and thicker it is compared to the 5.

I agree. It became more noticeable as I used it.

So you mentioned other phones that wow'd you that are doing essentially the same thing yet perform less efficiently and are priced similarly.

I never asked you to understand my logic and I didn't even elaborate on why I liked the phone. I made a comment and answered the questions that were asked. I didn't post in here to get in some pissing match about the phones. Feel free to keep this up though.

I really don't care what phones you're interested in; I never asked. I asked about the phone this topic is about and why you're "disappointed." When you brought up another phone, your logic went out the window IMO because if you don't have reasons you can list.

That's all there is to say about it, really. I don't see a pissing match, just someone turning this into something more than it is.

I guess because $2-400 on a device I use a good portion of every day of my life isn't much to me I can't follow how you think. That's just me though.

I would still get the 5. Here is why:

1) You'll have future OS support for at least 2 years. Apple typically drops old hardware with a 2 product life-cycle.

2) The processor is THAT much better than the 4S.

3) There is no price difference for LTE right now. And it's damn fast.

You are better served for the future with the 5 than the 4S. I wouldn't recommend to anyone, today, to purchase a 4S even if it meets their needs with the only difference being $100.

But yeah, those sound good and everything...I won't say they don't appeal to me but that they don't really move the needle for me as far this being a must have for me right now. And no I don't have any unrealistic/crazy/ridiculous expectations for it either in case anyone wants to try and play that card on me, lol.

It's a sum of parts thing. The new phone is easily worth the extra $100 today and in the future.

You have to be using these phones to their capacity to warrant them though. If you're just getting it to make a few calls, play a game, browse Facebook (or OS? ) and text some friends then yeah they don't warrant having the latest and the greatest.
