On my way to work this morning around 6 am there were about 30 people standing outside the AT&T store. I take it today was the day that the phone was releasing in the stores?

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
I've read about a lot of people having dropped calls with the new version compared to the old one...I don't think it's just the display issue like previously mentioned. The articles online keep mentioning things after the display issue was out there....

But yes, it has been reported that the display issue does not happen with one of Apple's Bumpers or a third-party case.Comment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
I can recreate the bar problem but my calls haven't been dropped.
The screen is really nice and coming from a 3G the speed increase is easily noticeable. I'm still not sold on the form factor though. I liked the way the older curved Iphones felt in my hands and pocket, I never used a case but may get one since the edges seem sharp. The ottercase for the IPhone 4 doesn't look as bulky as the one for the other versions.
I got the Gun game that was developed using the gyroscope and it makes the aiming really smooth and precise and it much better than the accelerometer so hopefully they will be able to make better games with the tech.XBL: Countach

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
OS'ers test this..........apparently holding the phone with your left hand causes drop calls. I could see the reason why, the antennaes are all along the outer rim on that side.

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.
Straight from Apple themself. They got it posted on engadget website.
Mainly because it is a design flaw and apple knew about it, but kept it that way anyway. If anything put the antennae array along the top of the phone, putting it down the sides, when you know full well people hold the phone that way is just dumb.Comment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Straight BS ! They better start giving away free cases then if they knew that would happen. Because I hold phones with my left hand. I don't think it is fair to force people to buy a case. I smell a class action law suit brewing.

I'm really happy I didn't reserve an iPhone now. I'm going to wait a couple weeks and watch how this plays out. If the problem seems to be fairly widespread, I'm going to forget getting the i4 and stick with Verizon and pick up a Droid X.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried.
