So there's going to be a price cut on the 4, correct? Just curious because I'd never paid attention to if they did that in the past when a new iPhone releases.

Yup. The iPhone 4 is now free on contract and the iPhone 4S is $99.

That'll be me. I'll be up early on Friday to get to Best Buy right when it opens to preorder as well.

Planning on being at Best Buy first thing Friday as well.

For those who have gone through them before, any luck getting them to waive AT&T's $36 upgrade fee? Also, when the phone comes in, I assume it'll be shipped to the store and I just head over and pick it up, right?

I work for AT&T, and frankly, unless you have a long history or a history of service issues or something, it's not easy. I'd say call customer care after the fact. Or have the BBY employee call their account rep, but that one may be implausible because of how busy they'll be that day. If you still lived here in KC, I'd be your rep for the Best Buy by Zona Rosa.

I think that's how I'm going. I'm gonna get Best Buy's protection on it mainly so I don't have to rock a case.

I doubt it, people who always had cases, will always want a case on their phone. Nothing could ever change their mind.

Camera is much better on the 4S, HSPA+ data speeds on carriers like AT&T, and a faster processor.

Best Buy, got it on the 18th of August. Totally forgot about that, may go in and see what they can do as I don't care if I just get the 4S since it's down in price.

At the very least you can price match it down to free. But the only problem could be that that may not happen til the 21st which is over your 30 days.
