I agree completely. Don't know about you asianflow, but IMO Rome and Cowherd exemplify everything that is wrong about sports journalism.

Rome cuts an awesome interview with athletes, but I hate listening to his own opinions and hearing him talk otherwise. Plus all the "clones" crap gets old fast. I'm not into the smack off stuff either, it just seems stupid. I don't want to listen to lame people call in and bitch about other callers.

I totally agree too!
I can not stand the Jim Rome show at all and yes I did give it a week. For some reason he thinks he is Gods gift to everything!

By the way it kills me everybody always puts down ESPN, I for one have grown up on ESPN and can not end my day without watching Sportscenter.

With Rome and Cowherd, you either get them or you don't, especially Rome (and he loves to tell you that). I used to think Patrick was arrogant and smug, too. But I don't think that as much as it was he tried to be "everyman" and then just got too big. I always disliked when he tried to dig for dirt that wasn't there. But, I loved when he had T.O. on his show a few years ago (when still w/ the 49ers) when he had the conflict with the one ***'t coach. T.O. had no wiggle room and wussed his way out of the interview....it was great. My guess is Dan will land some type of TV interview show.

I totally agree.

I'm gonna miss the Big Show podcast that I listened to at the gym. I like Dan and Keith together, especially when they talk about the days they worked on Sportscenter.

he already have a deal with MSNBC to do a corresponding show for the next presidential election along side Keith but its not long term it is just something for the elections

There's no middle ground for Cowherd and Rome. You either like them or you don't. You won't hear too many people say Rome and Cowherd are decent.

I didn't like both shows when I first started to listen but I eventually really enjoyed the programs. The Jim Rome show is a very inside type of show. New listeners aren't going to get a lot of the jokes or the clone crackbacks. Rome always has me in stitches when he starts ripping on soccer.

I like Cowherd because he speaks the truth. I agree with almost all of his opinions even if some are unpopular with the general public. It's must listen radio/podcasts when Cowherd goes off on wrestling fans. He calls them booger eaters and basically a bunch of losers. It's much funnier than what I just typed.

Both shows are also enjoyable when they go off-topic.

heard the news on his show at work today. kinda sucks i actually like Dan`s show. Liked the big show with Olbermann. I really like listening to Rick Reily and Reggie Miller when they are on. I wonder where he will end up. I`m sure he has something up his sleeve. I bet he ends up with working with Olbermann.

I would not mind seeing Reggie Miller and Mark Jackson take over for Dan. I wish ESPN would bring Eric Kuselis back to radio full time.

Hopefully he is not replaced by some jackass like Cowherd, i don`t think he knows very much about sports. He won`t admit he is wrong and is so annoying.

I actually find Cowherd's take on wrestling fans to be highly offensive. Maybe it's me, but I'd take my intellect over his any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
