That video reinforces that "Good Life" is by far one of my favorite Kanye tracks. Hands down.

MTV is robbing him year after year...but hey it happens....He should be rich enough and mature enough to look over it, instead of getting all baby wiped about it.
I can't believe noone sees merit in what Kanye said or is standing up for him. People are like "It's MTV, what do you expect". He perceives prejudice in the system and rather than just "dealing with it" and moving on, he is saying "I'm not coming back to MTV" and making a statement. The guy is definately conceited, but he gets my respect for publicly stating his disatisfaction with the way MTV treats him (as well as other artists) and doing something about it (vowing not to return).

A drunk Timberlake challenges MTV to play more videos and he is praised. Kanye criticizes MTV and is criticized himself.

I don't know about what Justin Timberlake said but Kanye just sounded like a little baby who didn't get his way. I could see if he's actually trying to make a statement but he is just once again complaining about how he doesn't get credit that he feels that he deserves. He interrupted an awards show last year because he felt that since his video was expensive that it should've won, he complained about not winning some award last year too, and now he throws a tantrum backstage and says that MTV isn't giving a black man a chance because he didn't get what he wanted.

He has a point but all he did was throw a temper tantrum. If he hadn't been so immature about it then he'd probably get more respect but it's hard to respect him with the way he goes about things.

Hmm.. well I didn't hear the audio clip of what he said, just read about it and thought that he had a point. I just respected the fact that he felt that MTV was being prejudiced and said something. It probably comes across alot differently when you actually see his alleged tantrum.

As far as not getting what he wanted, I don't understand why MTV wouldn't let a star as big as Kanye perform on the big stage anyways. This a guy, number one album in the country, wanting to perform for you, and you tell him no?? Makes no sense.

I am the exact same way. I used to be so big into the underground scene. I used to DJ. I used to go to all the shows. I used to buy and support all their music and that was on vinyl.

                            Backpackers?

Underground loyalists who think that any songs played on the radio means the artist has sold out or dumbed down?

                            The I-listen-to-underground-so-I-know-everything-about-all-music-and-what-I-say-is-gospel?

"Too broad" is a good thing because someone like myself can appreciate it and it's not sooo far out there where he's singing hooks or having some lollipop chorus for the Pop crowds to like it too.

An album with Mos Def, Premier, Dwele, etc. truthfully should have no commercial success. And he was able to do so.

He's actually catering more to you guys and you guys **** on him for being too broad?

                            That's sad.

Heh, I know tons of these guys and I used to be one of them. Until you realize music for what it is, a artform. You saying something is crap doesn't make it a fact.

Just because you rather listen to complex lyrics and metaphors doesn't make the music you listen to better or make you have better taste...it just makes you...you.

Simple as that as with all artforms. I used to be one of those guys "I don't understand how you can listen to that crap." but I don't care no more man.

I can honestly uunderstand why someone would enjoy "Souljaboy off in this..." or "Two Step" I don't necessairly enjoy that. I can understand why someone would like Gangster Rap, Southside Rap, any form of music man.

Its all about preference man and not about what you like.

I have no problem if you don't like the Music I like. What I have a problem with is someone telling me that the Music I listen to isn't on the level of quality to what they listen to. The music you listen to is just Great Artistic Expression while the music I listen to is what? Crap.

Nah I'm not buying that. Music is a artform and it's all opinion. If I think Kanye's Album is the greatest Albulm released to man you couldn't prove me wrong therefore it is a opinion.

I don't think that, but if I did you couldn't prove me wrong. I do think it's a classic though because there's two songs I don't like on it (Barry Bonds and Drunk and Hot Girls) other than that I am feeling all those others songs.

Exactly. I would go into class the next day with bags under my eyes from staying up all night and listening to CM Famalam and taping it.

I can appreciate a Finsta Bundy, Mike Zoot, Shabaam Sahdeeq, Natural Resource, etc. and at the same time listen to the most pop, commercial radio track if it suits me at the moment.

                                They know nothing about that.
