Just ordered the 16GB Apple iTouch from the Canada Apple Store for $449.00. A little steep but worth it. I've been using a 20GB Creative Zen Touch for three years now and loved it for a while but with all the great new MP3 players out there it feels and looks very dated. So I've been saving money for a new MP3 player for a few months. I've been looking for a player that had music, video and (free) internet, which is exactly what the iTouch offers with even more added goodies like a touch screen. I personally can't deal with spending >$60/month for a phone with feature I won't use so the iPhone drop did not entice me at all.

Now the only problem is waiting a month to get the darn thing.

Wait $449 USD? For 16 GB?? Holy **** that's a lotta money for minimal space. Hey if you ball like that I can't hate.

yeah too much for just a touch screen, but to each their own.

If it held more songs, maybe but...16gb, no thanks

It's more than the touch screen, it's the ability to play music and video and surf the net all in one machine. The iPod Classic does not have the big screen or internet, so I don't get the point of paying almost as much money for something I pretty much already have. I mean the 160GB Classic is only $50 cheaper.

Plus the 16GB storage is fine for me. I can put all my favorite artists and albums on it for life and then add/drop music every few weeks as I get sick of certain songs and start to like new stuff. I'm a music writer/critic so I constantly change the music on my MP3 player as new music comes in that I need to review.

It was an impusle buy but I hopefully won't regret it any time soon. Plus, that website someone posted earlier that talks about modding your iTouch looks awesome.

Considering I've never owned an iPod before, this may be right time to get one. Between the 8gb and 16gb, I'd probably get the 8gb iTouch just for the price. If I can, maybe the 16bg. Either way, I don't need all of my songs on there so its not such a big deal.

Touch-screen + flash-based + music + videos + wi-fi is pretty damn nice.

I guess that is why there are so many different types of iPods. For people like yourself who want the storage their are the 80GB/160GB types. Then for people like myself who want other features like internet there is the iTouch. Plus there are also the Shuffle and Nano for people who just want smaller solely music players. Everyone is happy in the end, except my girlfriend whose gonna have to eat at McDonalds for a while :-)

Yeah, exactly! Buy a 160 GB Classic :wink:

And they had to do this...with so many people pissed off. Not sure it's "taking care of customers" as much as "putting out a major fire", but it works.

Yeah me too. I just don't see the point in getting an iPod touch though if you already have the phone. I guess I could spend it on accessories once the iPhone approved accessories are released.
