I've got a intel macBook pro I use for work, but my primary iTunes computer is a PC at home, guess I should wait because you can only sync from 1 source, right?

Do you have access to a Windows PC? Much easier that way. Only takes about 5 steps or so.

******* it...So I bought the Ipod Classic and have been having a hell of a time with it. The first one froze like crazy and the second one I got had trouble syncing with my mac. So I return it today and I decide to try out the Ipod Touch. Even though I have like 30 GB of Music and 20 of movies and TV, I decided to buy it since I realized 1) I really only listen to my playlists and 2) I really only watch 1 movie a day at the most. Now I only need an Ipod to do 3 things:

1) play music in my car.
2) play music through my 360.
3) play video through the TV out on my TV at work and at home (I work for a TV network so thats why I have a TV at work)

So I buy the touch and its looks great. Its a flat out great device and it looks cool. One problem though, the damn thing doesnt do two of the things I need it too. First, I found out I have to buy another dock and more cables to get the TV out to work. I thought the Ipod universal dock would work but it doesnt. I need to buy the 50 buck Apple universal dock (yes there is a difference). So I say no big deal, I'll just sell the other docks and buy the new ones. Then I try and see if the Touch works with the 360 and apparently it doesnt. I redownloaded the Ipod update on the 360 and it doesnt even recognize the Touch. What sucks is that it works with the Classic but for some reason it doesnt work with the Touch.

Well unless someone here knows how to get this to work with the 360, I'm returning it to Costco for the Classic. Or maybe I'll just wait for the new Zunes.

The 360 probably won't recognize it b/c it has a completely unique file structure compared to the previous models.

I'll try it in a bit... AH, why not just buy a cheap 1G Nano and throw it in the car? I'm sure 4 gigs would be enough for just the car, no?

That's what I do... I have my 1G Nano that is always in the car. Doesn't leave unless I get new music... then I sync and throw it back in the car for another month or so.

Yeah, I don't think that iPod software for the 360 has been updated since the 360 launched back in 2005. Sucks that the Touch doesn't work, but it doesn't surprise me.

Yup. It won't work. You know why? B/c the 360 software searches the attached the device as a hard drive.

Since the older iPod models where also used as removable drives, the 360 could search the music on it and play it back. The touch has eliminated Disk Mode (b/c Apple doesn't want people doing exactly what they are doing) so the 360 can't read it.

I'm pretty sure the 360 will never be able to read it. Apple doesn't want people accessing the applications on the device so they've locked the device out of 3rd party devices.

Yeah, it's connected only to my Windows PC now...I was going to use the apple if that's what I had to do to get the addons, but I'd rather just deal through Windows.

Found a nice Windows GUI program that takes you through jailbreaking the ipod touch. It does everything for you, no command lines or anything.

Just finishing up my break, seems really easy and foolproof (I'd seen some sites that were more complicated and you had to do more). I've got the installer app, seems like it worked fine.

Have you tried Summerboard? It's the ultimate in customization... I love it!

Yeah, apparently Summerboard is awesome. Maybe one of these days I'll find out for myself.
