That's right, I forgot that they were flash drives and not hard drives. Makes perfect sense to me now.

Honestly, that's a good point...I know the touch is new and dreamy, but if you're not going to do video, not going to do album art, then what's the point? Just the touch interface?

I just picked up an 8gb nano. It's an awesome little device, but it's already full. I'm trying to pare down the 29gb of content I have stored on my 80gb video. I really wish it was bigger.

I need to check out the touch as well. Again, I wish it had at least 30gb though.

Yeah, the classic would have been the more sensible purchase.

But the Touch is just too cool.

Of course I got the 16 GB. And with judicious use of playlists, I have a sync that works well ... fitting the music I really want with me.

Okay I just gotta say that Hilary Duff has the best song out ever. It's called "Stranger" and it sounds amazing. I listen to it on my iPod when I work out everyday as motivation. Her voice is beyond sexy, I think I have an obsession. I'm only 22 it's okay!

I haven't read through all the pages but I have a question. My ipod screen has like some lines on it that makes everything unviewable. It's weird because sometimes when I turn it on it'll have these lines and others it'll be perfectly fine. It used to do it rarely but it's starting to become more frequent.

I've asked around and I've been told to reset it, restore it, etc, and I've done all of that but I'm still having problems. Will I have to take it to the apple store to get fixed? Or does OS have a remedy?

Just got one at the Apple Store. I went to Circuit City this morning but they only got 1 (only 1, wtf?) and a guy got there just before me. I was sad, but called the Apple Store later and they had 16 GB touch in stock. Syncing and charging now, but it looks so nifty. Very happy with the purchase, especially now that I can watch video on the run. After a day or the weekendish I'll post more impressions, but can't complain so far.

Freaking awesome...I ripped my DVD of Super Troopers into iPhone format on a program I found online...put it in iTunes, went onto the iTouch and it's perfect....

Connected to my WiFi easily, surfing the web is nice (and will be great for airports and whatnot because I don't currently have a laptop). I am very happy with the purchase!

I'm using Handbrake....it works well on my work Mac, and i'm still trying to get it to work on my PC well....might find another program if I still have issues. What are you using? It's legal, I own the DVD's so getting them in iPod/Phone format is legal.

Yeah, HandBrake is what I just downloaded. How long did it take to convert your movie?

The one I tried (about 1 hr 45 min long) had an estimated time of 8 hours to convert.

It goes fast on my MacBook Pro work gives me, maybe actually takes 2 1/2 hours or so. I just figured out how to get the PC one to work and taking a lot longer I think, not done after a couple hours. I know that PC is a lot slower, so I just may use the mac, I dunno. 85% right now after 2-3 hours...not horrible. I'll probably just use that to rip overnight or something. I want to make sure the PC quality is the same though.

Converts video fast for iPod, iPhone, psp. Stitches clips together. Great thing I like is it automatically syncs to your ipod (if you choose so) the next time you sync. Same for iPhone.

just converted an 800mb divx movie in 10 minutes.
