I'm a huge Tool fan. Probably my second 3rd favorite band ever behind Oasis and The Beatles. I agree with Misfit, that though good 10,000 days was a bit of a let down compared to the bands previous two efforts. The Pot kicked some serious *** though.

I disagree. I own every release they've put out and for a time Tool was probably my favorite band. I feel over the last two albums they've become predictable and have relied on similar progressions for a lot of songs. It's not a matter of comprehension, but of taste.Comment

Re: Who likes Tool?
Obvioulsy if they're predictable you knew what was coming with 10,000 Days. I think it's more reasonable to say you DIDN'T expect them to come with what they did, hence the dissapointment. If you knew where they were headed, then how could you possible expect more? Contradiction.Last edited by SkunkWurks6; 08-17-2008, 04:26 AM.Comment

Re: Who likes Tool?
Not really. Undertow does not sound like Opiate. Aenima does not sound like Undertow. Lateralus does not sound like Aenima. 10,000 Days sounds like Lateralus Part II. They became predictable with 10,000 Days. I expected 10,000 Days to go some place else, but the band sounds like they're stuck in neutral.Comment

Really? I disagree, I think 10,000 days has some of the most amazing bass lines ive ever heard, (wings of marie) although I do understand what your saying, the formula is some what the same, but really what band doesn't use the same formula?
I think 10,000 days is a masterpiece, Right in two is an incredible song with brilliant lyrics, and as for Jambi I gotta put it up there with the best of their songs ( H ) , but to each his own I guess.
I believe one of the reasons I love 10,000 days so much is because of seeing them live 2 times and both shows were during the 10,000 days tour.Last edited by YuNgWuN; 08-18-2008, 02:56 AM.Handshakes at sunriseComment

Maynard stated in a interview at the grammys that the band will start recording soon, they will not take as long this time ,they are getting old.Handshakes at sunriseComment

Push-it (live version)
Third Eye
Lateralus (love the time signature changes in that one -- great riff)
Honorable mention to "Jerk-Off", "Part of Me", and "Hooker With A Penis", which are their most headbangiest songs IMO. Love the drums on HWAP -- Carey kills it as usual.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Who likes Tool?
I liked Tool for a while. Their first two full albums were pretty great. After that, though?Whatever.

Re: Who likes Tool?
Hard to say top 3 because those first two full albums are great. If I had to try to narrow it down, though, it'd probably be:
1.) Sober
2.) Undertow
3.) EulogyComment
