That's the thing! I'm not. I can honestly and PROUDLY say I have never seen an episode of Star Trek OR X-Files for that matter. I think Star Wars is pretty cool, but other than that, I am just your average/typical dumb jock who watches and plays TOO much sports.

I'm not all into sci-fi crap and what not. I just have always been interested in this subject and then got really into it. I was a big time skeptic at first, but after numerous hours of research, it is all starting to make more sense.

It's funny about what you can get hooked on and what can turn you off.

You guys call your selves UFO junkies and yet to have watch Star Trek. Star Trek is a classic. One of my all time favorite shows, right up there with Lost in space and Batman. My all time favorite was Hogan heroes. I lobe tunnels, and they had a kick *** tunnel system in that show, plus I am 75% German.

Apparently there is a UFO Files marathon going on today on the History Channel. I'd watch that, but I have NFL Football I need to see. Then at 8pmET there is a new episode of The Unexplained - UFOs Vs. Government on the Biography Channel.

Just throwing that out there in case anyone is interested. I might DVR the UFOs Vs. Government show.

I can picture an alien attack right now.

People... committing suicide, murders, starting fires, running around screaming; essentially total chaos. The government may have a "plan" in order, but I guarantee it would not work. You'd be looking at total chaos and the law enforcement would stand no chance at keeping order. Martial Law would be placed in affect, but no civilians would care.

If the government actually knows something about aliens, it'd be wise to slowly ease out the truth. If you just come out and say "Yep, Aliens exist. They live in the sky" you're risking panic and mass histeria. If you slowly release information, people will become more accepting and less likely to go crazy.

If aliens just come down and start attacking, with the the people having no prior knowledge to their existance, the Earth population would go bat**** insane.

Time to rain on everyone's parade but we have never been visited by aliens nor will we ever be. The likelyhood of any planet sustaining life advanced enough to visit us would be millions and millions(we're talking billions here folks) miles away and would take (best case scenario) thousands of year to do regardless of the Star Trek warp speed it attains. Therefore it would have to travel thru numerous worm holes to shorten the distance and for that type of travel any race that advanced would look at us like imeoba on the evolutionary scale. Thusly if they visited, the planet would have been obliterated because they would have as much capability, and inclination, to communicate with us as we do with ants and thier ship would be so advanced it would probably be the size of New York. I don't think that there is the english(or insert any language you want) language for alien dummies stocked in thier alien librarys not would they care enough to read it. They would have no reason to tip toe around our planet so they don't get caught. I don't think they care about Star Trek's prime directive.

I'm just getting started, If you factor in just how mind boggling huge our universe is then finding our planet in the vastness of space is like a needle in the haystack because if thier is advanced life somewhere out there then there is a 99.9999999% chance it's pretty far away. Not to mention the tried and true bacteria problem that any alien would be susceptible too and die pretty quickly from it. Let's not get into the gravity problem which would be immensely different from ours and also adversely affect them.

Last but not least and probably the most compelling argument against the alien landing is society itself. Based on Earth's history no race could possibly live that long to advance that far to be able to visit us. The race would have destroyed it self thru war or depleted all it's resources long before they could develop space travel that advanced. Simply put they would die off, if you find that unlikely then can you honestly state that the human race will still be around in several hundred years the way the world is going with wars, depleting resources and new bacterial diseases popping up every day. Let's not even count that pesky little over population problem that's creeping up. Oh yeah I forgot how many unstable nations will have a nuclear arsenal in the next 50 years, sounds comforting. Even if we survive for awhile it wouldn't be long enough to become advanced enough to travel from galaxy to galaxy on a whim. Alien cultures would evolutionize along the same plane, they would not become tech whizzes overnight, it would take millions of years. There's always been conflict among humans and the aliens would face the same insurmountable obstacles.

I beleive there is life on other planets, it would be naive not to think so due to the vastness of space and the odds of there being some sort of Earth like planet out there isn't even that far of a stretch but it might as well not exist since they would be so far away they wouldn't know we existed and vice versa. Even if they knew they wouldn't have some sort of Utopian existence to allow them to evolve enough to build all these cool spaceships so they could go on a Sunday drive and check us out.

It's a romantic notion but like all those fat guys on the show Friends, who all get dates every week with smokin' hot chicks they meet at a coffee shop, it's just not realistic.

seymour id have to say that me and you see eye to eye, the only thing that bothers me though is how many people see UFO's or have weird encounters. alot of these UFOs due crazy stuff and fly around at warp speed,etc. beyond that id have to say that i share the same opinion that its not likely we are being visited and if we were we would be like ants.
