Yup, saw it over the weekend. Possibly one of the best movies in the series.

Spoilers for safety sake, though nothing really is a spoiler.

I never fall asleep during movies and it happened in The Hobbit. So thank god The Desolation of Smaug doesn't have a dinner that goes on forever.

Saw it in 3D HFR because that's what Peter Jackson told me to do and it's less videogame/demo video looking but I'm still getting used to the whole thing. Smaug is an amazing creation and definitely the best dragon to date. Menacing, smug and has more gold than he'd have any use for (none). Elf Kate owns, but Legolas is the chief badass around these woods. The movie really needs to add a combo/kill counter in the blu-ray every time he's on screen.

After Catching Fire left me wanting more, Smaug goes ahead with its own cliffhanger that feels even more abrupt. Looking forward to There and Back Again in a year's time!

I saw it in 3d. Enjoyed it but I'm not much of a 3d guy. Didn't make me sick.

As for the movie I really enjoyed it more than the first part of The hobbit. Ending left me wanting more.

Absolutely loved Pt2. I also loved Pt1....I love all of the Lord of Rings/Hobbit flicks.

Epic film making to the highest degree.
