They didn't have to give me $100 for my phone, but they did. While I agree that the $20 is a little strange, you can't make a blanket statement like that. Just hack it and you get it all (and more) for free.

They only gave you that $100 because of the uproar online. If people weren't vocal you wouldn't have gotten crap...This is the 2nd time within the past 6 months that they've raped the early adopters. Starting to become a pattern in my eyes.

It won't surprise me if the $20 fee is gone within a week, just boggles my mind why Apple would treat loyal customers in such a cheap way.

Sure, I'll just keep mine hacked and I've got it for free, but it should be free anyways. I just don't like being treated as an ATM by Apple, so I don't let them. Eventually all this will catch up with them though, if they screw over people enough it adds up.

Again, the $20 bucks it self isn't that much...it's just the principle of the matter.

LOL, Apple continually screws its customers. NO ****, what major corporation DOESN'T screw it customers frequently. MS does it all the damn time as well. Gotta take the good with the bad from every corporation out there.

Once the update is released by Apple, it will be released, if you know what I mean.

People aren't going to pay for it. There won't be much of an uproar from iPod Touch users because most of us have the apps already.

How is apple screwing people over? Microsoft-based PCs have new things come out all more frequently. Sure, more places to buy, but Apple is doing what it can to survive.

Not a big fan of no optical drive. I leave for Aussie on Sunday, for a year. I wont have access to my files wirelessly and no way do I want to burn all my stuff to 50dvds and then put it onto a pc, and later my mac... forget that.

Also, i dont want to have to rent movies. I want to be able to play my own dvds.

Why should I have to pay 20 bucks for these features when I bought the Touch in December instead of January. Does Apple want me to wait to buy their products in the future?

SMH @ the obsession with making things thinner. That laptop probably has the worst keyboard in the history of laptops, and the macbook keyboards were sketchy as it were.

This isn't about surviving, it's about supporting a product so it is the same across the board.

You point to MS yet they supported Zune1 by giving it the same exact software as Zune2. For... wait for it... free.

iTunes is updated to allow for movie rentals and mobile device support.

Plus new Touch owners get all this free...I know buying stuff when it comes out can bite you in the behind, but this is a bit much. It's not like new owners have to pay. That would still suck, but at least it'd be fair, you know?
