Popped it in last night and I would agree with this. Low bit rates all around. A lot of black crush and some poor topped out dialogue at times.

Also, I played the extended cut without realizing it. I mean I realized it when I was actually watching the movie, but before that I had no idea. I didn't necessarily mind the extended cut as it was fine development, but what I despised was this one inconsistency issue where the exact same question is asked twice in the movie because of the new extended cut. I can't believe that was left in there, it was painful to watch.

Just picked up 4 Blu-Rays off Craigslist for $40. Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and both Transformers.

I haven't seen the movie yet but I heard the question is asked twice and it has 2 different answers. Is that right?

How To Train Your Dragon had some breath taking visuals. I watched it last night and the backgrounds and settings looked amazing.

I don't think they're that different, but the second [theatrical] time it's expanded on justly. It's just bad that it was asked and answered twice.

Agreed. Loved the visuals and storyline of HTTYD. Actually enjoyed it more than Toy Story 3 (slightly).

Saw it in 3D at the theater with my son and it was the best 3D visuals I have seen and I hate 3D because I can't stand the dimness, motion blur and eye strain afterward. HTTYD was pretty bright for 3D and there was minimal motion blur. To me it was markedly better than Avatar as a 3D experience and I watched it at the same theater.

Finally, for the love of god.......El Mariachi, Desperado, and Once Upon a Time in Mexico have released on Blu-ray. When BD first appeared on the market, there were tons of Desperado ads on BD's and in print with no release. Now, finally 5 years later these three get released. LOL!

I will say that I wasn't disappointed with Desperado and thought it was better than the DVD even upconverted. The sound is where the disc also excels, Sony always does a great job with their catalog releases.

I'll be watching OUATIM later tonight, just picked that one up earlier today as I couldn't find it yesterday, so I'll report later on that.
