These are the same movies that were on the $7.99 shelves. So while they're a great sale price, this isn't the mother of all deals either unfortunately.

I would check out the Blockbuster one, but I think the ones around here are either all closed or they have already sold their movies. I don't suppose it would hurt to check though.

LOTR extended edition is coming out on June 28th. Apparently Fellowship has been remastered.

The X-Men movies were $7.99 at Best Buy, including Wolverine.

Plus they come with movie cash for X-Men First Class, definitely worth picking up at least X1 and/or X2.

I'm ashamed to say (well, maybe not) that I still haven't seen The Last Stand or Wolverine (I caught the end of it on HBO by accident once, though it looked like a CGI crapfest). Do you think there's any reason I need to see either before seeing First Class? It's obviously a prequel like Wolverine, but the fact that it was filmed after normally alludes to something in the previously made films that would be enticing knowledge going into this.

I've only seen the last half of Last Stand. To be honest, there's no need to really see Wolverine Origins since X1 and X2 already exist. I just found it kind of redundant since Wolverine and his backstory were such a major part of the first two X-Men movies, though I did enjoy Liev as Sabretooth, but he was pretty much wasted IMO. If you like Wolverine, then see it but when I went to Best Buy I only picked up the first two X-Men movies and considering all of them were 8 bucks, I guess that says something.

As for First Class, you don't need to see any of the X-Men movies to know what's going on. It's its own universe (well, 99% of it anyway) and I felt like the characters were deeper and had a lot more going on for them than in X1 and X2.

FX is showing the trilogy tonight. I caught it last night. First time I saw X2 and Last Stand. Thought there were both pretty good and better then Wolverine.

PSA: The Back to the Future Trilogy on blu ray is supposedly $20 at Target (in store only)

However, its supposed to be $15 the week of 6/12-6/18 (this sunday)

you can buy it now and price match later next week.

I think I'm going to switch my Amazon pre-order of Star Wars to LOTR: Extended Edition. I'm sure Georgy-Boy will release an "ultimate" blu-ray edition down the line because there's some extras missing and the most obvious thing is the lack of original theatrical versions. I'll probably end up picking it up when it drops in price, though - haha.

I don't have that restraint. Knowing that Star Wars in high-def is out there, despite the craptacular edits and added effects, would drive me insane. I'd still HAVE to have it.

And I will. On release day. Original trilogy. You can keep the prequels, George.
