I sent in my redemption at the end of January and got my movies 2-3 weeks ago so I would imagine you are going to get yours anyday now.

        Thanks for all the replies!

I guess I got lucky with my HD-DVD's as they came pretty fast and I expected the Blu-Rays to be in the same ballpark. It sounds like the Blu-Ray's are probably taking the normal amount of time as compared to everyone else.

Thanks. I checked, but it stated that it did not have an order registered with the information I submitted. I might give them a call to see if they can find the status that way.

If anyone wants a status on their Blu-Ray offer, call this number:

              1-800-598-9671

A guy picked up after 2-3 rings, asked if it was the summer or holiday offer, took my zip code and name and looked in their database. He said my Blu-Ray's are processing and should arrive shortly. He could not give a better time frame, but that was fine with me as I really just wanted to make sure they received everything and it was OK.

Strange how this thread seems to have completely died ever since HD-DVD died, is it because there isnt much to report or that there isnt much coming out on BR lately? I remember when this thread was consistently on the first page and yet yesterday it was on page 3 somehow, just an observation is all.

                  Well...

Since I've ordered over 90 HD DVDs in the last 2 months, I'm just getting around to opening some of them.

I watched The Mummy and The Mummy Returns last night and they are G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S in HD. Some of the best looking HD DVDs I've seen yet.

Carlito's Way looks great as well. First time I'd ever seen that movie..good flick.

The Thing is incredible looking as well. Very good transfer.

Most people might not agree with me, but I just felt HD-DVD was better and still is better!

For some reason, Blu-Ray can't get night time scenes right, the quality always drops a lot . On HD-DVD the transfer were near perfect, no matter the movie.

I'm like AA, my collection of HD-DVD is sick! And honestly it pisses me off that this is the end of it. At least I got I Am Legend on it. I wish Hitman would have dropped on it too. Blu-Ray version is horrible. I got the standard digital dvd edition Unrated Hitman on regular DVD and when played in the HD-DVD player it looks better than the blu-ray version. Imagine that!

I had no preference since I have both but the one thing I hated about HD-DVD was the combo disc, irritating is putting it lightly. Not only was the combo a waste, but it also was priced higher then it should have been because it was a combo and to top it off they had more problems with combo movies playing then the non-combo disc movies. I remember reading guys who were boiling their discs because it was the only way to get a combo HD-DVD movie to actually play without freezing constantly, and thats not a good solution.

Now in terms of BR, I really enjoy the fact that the discs have the protective coating to prevent scratches from occuring, thats a big selling point when I buy movies used on ebay I no longer have to worry about scratches. Secondly, and being selfish here I guess, I enjoy the fact that the PS3 loads the movies so much faster then my HDA2, its a nice player but I hate having to basically "warm up" the HD player before I can put the movie in.

I have a combo player but I preferred HD. I never had an issue with the combo movies with my addon or with my combo player. The only thing I like about Bluray is that it resumes play when you cut off the player. I hate having to bookmark HDs to start a movie where I left off.

Has anyone run across any deals lately? I'm trying to boost my Blu-Ray collection. I just got started buying but so far I've got I Am Legend, Gone Baby Gone, Spiderman 3, Good Luck Chuck and I'm waiting for Reign Over Me to arrive.

I'm thinking about ordering Dan In Real Life and No Country For Old Men. I've heard good things about both.

*edit* Just ordered both for $37.50 shipped. Can't wait for 'em!

Picked up 28 Days Later tonight. OMFG does it look awful. Part of me wants to say that it's supposed to look the way it does, and part of me knows that it's not like the DVD looks better or something, but damn - visually, it's utter garbage. I'm not mad I bought it because I'm a fan of the film, but it's easily the worst-looking blu I've seen to date.

Agreed, it looks not too hot. Here's a few lines from the HDD review to explain maybe a little why it's not up to par:

To be fair, I wasn't expecting to be blown away by the video on this release. The majority of the film was shot using a European model Canon XL-1s standard-definition camcorder at 720x576 resolution (thanks to Grubert for the info), a decision on the part of the filmmakers to give the film a rough-around-the-edges visual style. As such, it’s unrealistic to expect that '28 Days Later' would look as sharp as other high-def releases. I did, however, hope to see at least some benefit from this Blu-ray transfer.
