Alright, I want to thank all you guys for your help.

Having all this music that is completely new 2 me is awesome. Also, the b.a. stuff is pretty polished, blew me away actually. All be your financial advisior when you become rich man!

I can even understand where jmood is coming from regardin Talib, while his stuff is good, he tries to fit 10 pounds of stuff in a 5 bag and it comes off as unorganized. Still quality though. Sometimes less is more.

Whats funny about music is the crap mainstream media outlets play really gives hip/hop a bad name. Which reenforces the wrong stereotypes, on both sides.

If that is too racial for the forums delete the post cause this thread is pretty important.

Man, I don't even know what to say to you besides a sincere thank you. I pretty much know you're taste in Hip-Hop from the "fans of underground rap" thread and I massively respect it, so coming from you that means a lot.

Actually it does. If you said that my opinion of you would be that you're overrating him. If many people say he's the best or near the best out (which I have heard) then my opinion of the general opinion of him is that he's overrated. You can disagree with my opinion but it definitely works like that.

That's actually beside the point though. There wasn't a question of how many people have overrated Talib IMO or jmood's opinion (since we're the only two on the other side of the fence here) so you're assuming that the number is too small to make the claim. There has actually been talk of him being overrated in other threads in this forum, but again, it doesn't really matter b/c it's just an opinion.

I actually think that's a perfect way of putting it. Still don't get why its such a big deal for people to disagree.

actually if youve been reading, I agreed that some people do overate Kweli IMO, so im actually on "you guys side of the fence" in that regard...i was just stating its ALL a matter of opinion like you just said...there isnt a universal rating system we go off of.

Nas is about as "quality" as it gets. He spits some real stuff.
Why does everyone seem to forget the booty albums that he dropped in the mid 90's. I loved Illmatic, but can you really say Nastradamus, God's Son, and I am.... was quality?

I downloaded the album and I have a mixed review. I really like the beats, but don't like the rapping at all. Did you do the beats and the lyrics?

I agree with JMood about Kweli. His flow is wack as **** and dude struggles to stay on beat. If you read his lyrics yourself, then they sound(look?) good, but he's really bad about trying to force too many syllables into a line, and that just screws up the flow.

I like his stuff with Mos Def on the Blackstar album, but his solo stuff just isn't for me.

Maybe I Am and Nastradramus weren't his best work, but you can't lump God's Son into that bunch. God's Son was a hot album. Made You Look, Last Real ***** Alive, I Can, Book of Rhymes, and Mastermind were great tracks.

People keep forgetting about The Lost Tracks. That was a great album.

b.a. Sick, I downloaded your album and damn, I hate 80% of modern rap but your stuff was great. It was pretty refreshing and it's pretty much all I listened to all night.
