BECAUSE IT'S SOMETHING NICE TO DO. Like I said, I'd expect the girl to do the same for me. Hell, I'd hold my buddy's hat or something if he needed to try something on whatever... it doesn't matter if it's a girl or a guy. It's just doing something SIMPLE like that to show a little generosity.

Relationships with men cannot be compared to relationships with women. What I do for my BOYS has NOTHING to do with what I do for the females in my life.

This discussion, at its heart, is laughable. It's a ****in' purse. If people feel the need to turn that situation - a woman asking a male to hold her purse for a minute or two - into some dynamic power-struggle of the sexes...just wow.


And hell, if you want to talk about the sissifcation of society, this is the last place to start. Start with the sheltering of kids that today's parents partake in...not whether or not a guy holds a bag for a girl.

yet all this has nothing to do with whether or not a man or woman is not necessarily needed when a baby is born. so the average woman can take better care of the child, does that mean that the average guy can't? you will also have the average man and woman who can't take care of a child, i guess they are not needed as well. have a robot take care of the child who can develop them at 100% capacity and leave to go make more kids.

Which is why I am arguing strictly from a biological side, I should have stated that I was not throwing in the cultural or technological aspect. If you throw the average human father and the average human mother over the course of the past 150,000 years, and how we have evolved (if you believe in that sort of thing), I would argue that the investment of the female into their children and development is much heavier than the male. We spent months learning this in my human evolution class. The human male mating strategy in biology is one that doesn't exactly lend itself to investing a lot of time in individual offspring, but rather investing little time trying to father as many offspring as possible. The human female (and for both sexes by the way this is a fairly common trait in many closely related primates) has a mating strategy based on investing a LOT of time on a few individual offspring. If you don't believe in that sort of thing, fine.

I am not saying that people aren't needed, I am just arguing from a strictly biological aspect. I am not vain enough to believe one life is better than another, I am strictly speaking from a biological perspective.
