Downloaded this the other day - really, REALLY feeling this guy.

Good song. The last few days I'm listening some Musiq songs, he's really good. How was his last album? Is he doing something new?

WHOA! I like, has a Al Green vibe to it. I'm listening to the "F You" song from that album as well.....Me thinks I need to pick this up. The latter song is a little more modern but has a Motown flavor to it.

SPTO, you should check out Gnarls Barkley if you have not done so yet. Cee-Lo is the singer and Danger Mouse is the producer. Good tunes.

EDIT: Yeah Tendrils i've heard some Gnarls Barkley. That's some pretty good stuff as well. I really like the song "smiley faces"

Anyway, was trying to find this thread earlier as I wanted to post some throwbacks in here as well but since it was bumped back up after a long hiatus, here ya'll go:

Not only Gnarls Barkley like Fresh Tendrils said, I'd also definitely recommend Cee Lo's first two solo efforts, "Cee Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections" and "Cee Lo Green is the Soul Machine." They are very good and incredibly underrated albums.

My favorite Cee Lo tracks are the ones where he sings like in the one posted here. He is an excellent rapper but dude is full to the brim with soul and a really good writer.

There's a lot of stuff I'd like to post but a lot of my favorites have been taken down.

One song i really want but can't find anywhere is "Love Gun" with Cee lo Green and Lauren Bennett. You can hear it playing in the background here:

That article mentioned "Love Gun" but I don't see it in the track listing. Still going though my first listen, man I hope it's there.

EDIT: YES! It's there! It's called "Please" on the track listing but the article referred to it as "Love Gun".

Absolutely LOVING this album. Early favorite tracks are "Bright Lights, "Bigger City*", "Love Gun", "Old Fashioned", "Bodies" and "Fool For You". Great album though and the only song I skip is the remix of "**** You."

Got it and yeah this album is straight fire. Easily one of the best of the year and yet another great addition to his catalog.


I don't know how in the world I missed it this past summer (might have still been in a Monae haze) but he released a really good mixtape this year called Stray Bullets. Check it out, it's free.
