Didn't know Donell Jones kept singing, I'm enjoying his new song.

This Miguel/Mariah Carey track might be my jam of the first part of the summer

I love The Weeknd but that is terrible.

The scream beat is lame
The lyrics are lame

Yep, the Weeknd has reached a new level of ratchetness. And I love it.

Re: Fans of R&B/Soul Music

Was gonna post it but then I thought you really can't put her solely in an R&B box. But at the same I didn't feel like making a new thread so I ended up doing nothing lol.

She looks good as hell in that video, bet a lot of people didn't see that coming with the tuxedos and pompadours she usually rocks. Those thick *** backup dancers hit the spot as well.

As for the song, I like it well enough. It kind of has a Jackson 5 feel to it to me. It and Queen doesn't sound like her other stuff and I am looking forward to the album.
PS: You guys are great.

Album stream for the new Mayer Hawthorne album "Where Does This Door Go'

In the course of three studio albums, Hawthorne has transformed himself from underground indie-soul curiosity to imminent star. Hawthorne has long been a student of the music that precedes him, with skills as a composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist that take him well beyond mimicry.

Halfway through, I feel like it's getting difficult for him to capture that magic he had when he first hit the scene.. but decent nonetheless. Hopefully it grows on me.

I'm not super knowledgeable when it comes to this genre, but some names off the top....

Frank Ocean
Justin Timberlake (FutureSexLoveSounds and The 20/20 Experience specifically)
Usher

and if you want some more traditional soul/funk:
