Ordered season 4 last week, but am starting from season 1 again.

I've seen the first half of season 1 probably 3-4 times, but still catching new bits of class-A dialogue. Plus, I just love reveling in the brilliance of some of these characters and watching them identify themselves from the fold.

I also got one of my friends into this and Luther.

Robert F. Chew — best known for playing Proposition Joe on “The Wire” — was found dead yesterday in his apartment in Baltimore … TMZ has learned.
According to the coroner in Baltimore, Chew died of cardiovascular disease. “Morbid obesity” was listed as a contributing factor.
Chew had very little acting experience before “The Wire” or after. He was on the cult HBO show — which took place in Baltimore — for five seasons.
Jamie Hector, who played Marlo on the show, tweeted this afternoon, “I didn’t want to believe this #RIP Robert F Chew, Prop Joe will always be remembered Robert Chew will always be loved and missed!”

Very Sad news!,He was very overweight,I would never have known he had no acting experience!

He played Prop Joe with such class,i was very impressed with his portrayal and how he made Prop joe come across so wise,and inteligent yet so powerfull!...

Just started watching this show a little over a week ago on HBO GO. Just finished the season one finale earlier today.

Probably the best season of (drama) television I've ever seen. It's a fantastic show; I've heard for years how The Wire is one of the best series' ever. I went into it thinking I would disappointed because it had been built up so much, but it DID NOT disappoint.

When Omar holds up the dealer during the final scene of the season one finale. Pulls his hood down after he drew his gun: "All in the game - Traditional West Baltimore" Maybe the most BA moment of television I've seen, haha.

Can't wait to see where the show goes from here.

I've run through The Wire so many times, it's hard for me to count. I always stress the importance of it to family and friends, but most of the time I can't get them to watch. It's a shame, because I consider this show the best work of art in our time.

Yea, I think I've gone through the whole series maybe 4 times. Can't imagine doing that with any other show.

Am I the only one who thinks about The Wire every time i see Russell Westbrook?
