Before Tha Carter, Wayne was just poppy trash. Yeah, he wrote hooks for major hit singles, but they weren't any less gimmicky than Mike Jones.

"Bling Bling, every time I come around your city Bling bling"

"Wha wha wha wha drop it like it's hot"

"uh we on fiya we on fiya"

"I wan a hot girl" (this might have been Turk/BG)

"The block is hot, the block is hot"

Cash Money certainly had its place, and I listen to Carter 1 and 2 pretty regularly along with most of the old Cash Money hits, but before the Carter albums, Wayne was derivative gimmicks just like the rest of Cash Money, No Limit, the Houston peoples, Lil John's click, and all the rest.

He was a ghostwriter away from being Mike Jones, any No Limit rapper, or Turk.
Just like Wu-Tang, Death Row, Public Enemy and that whole movement. Tribe Called Quest and that whole movement, the Bay Area, DMX, 50 Cent etc. all had their time making pop hits and being big in the (hip hop)mainstream. Doesn't mean they're not talented or didn't have their place. They're not alot of rappers period able to write hit songs and Wayne is one of them.

And let's not even mention the hits he wrote after Gillie dissed him......and then the million dollar question: if Gillie was a major part of all his hits, than why isn't Gillie as big as Lil Wayne?

I don't think Wayne is that great(I think Juvy is the better MC), but he is definately talented and ALOT better than any gimmick rapper. I would compare him to Snoop back in the early days.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

Except Wu Tang, PE, ATCQ, and DR (to a lesser extent; not that big on them) put out classic albums when they were in the spotlight.

36 Chambers, Cuban Linx, Liquid Swords, Nation of Millions, Low End Theory, Chronic, Doggystyle, All Eyes on Me, and Tha Carter III?

So are Mike Jones, 50 Cent, and Soulja Boy.

Gillie wasn't responsible for Lil Wayne's hits. Mannie Fresh's production, Birdman's marketing, and Lil Wayne's image and cheesy hooks are responsible for that. Gillie is responsible for Lil Wayne being considered a quality MC.

OK, but 400 Degreez, Chopper City In The Ghetto, or Guerilla Warfare were(and I think 400 Degreez could be considered a classic), than they were at least good albums. If they consistently put out good records at their peak, than why are they gimmicky?

So are Mike Jones, 50 Cent, and Soulja Boy.
Mike Jones and Soulja Boy only wrote one hit....not sure if you can compare them to Wayne. Again, not alot of MC's can come up with hit songs....especially 10 years apart.

So why would he be irrelevant or Mike Jones(or Gillie) now if Gillie wasn't responsible for the hits? He may have helped him as a MC, but to say that he isn't talented w/o Gillie is a bit ridiculous.

          Soldier,

I dont think even you believe some of the the stuff your typing....I mean you know waaaaay too much about hip hop to believe it...lets take how you feel about Wayne, "what ifs", and "only b\c's" out of the equation.

You know YOUR favorite rapper has used a ghostwriter....more than once...more than twice LOL you know thats apart of the game- are you serious about discrediting a artist b\c of that? especially off the accusations of a guy whos biggest claim to fame IS his beef with Lil Wayne? wow..

And me and you both know Wayne isnt "flavor of the month" come on, im not even going to go into that...

All I know is the guy is moving units...in a game thats DRY right now as far as record sales, he makes hit records, and hes WORKING his butt off.

and no one can deny any of the above...

to anyone in general....If you dont like him...dont like him....theres no need to say "I dont like him, I dont see how anyone does" or challenge anyone elses taste.....thats just rediculous...

I dont think I cant feel my face is going to drop. I've been waiting for blood brothers since last summer just found the whole concept was cancelled.

Well I'm not 100% sure, but at this point I doubt it comes out which sucks cause I was waiting for it too. I did hear some tracks that were supposedly on album If I ever find them again upload them and post them.

The mixtape was hot, but that had to be 2 and some years ago. That summer was pretty much Lil Wayne everywhere.

He honestly needs to stick to his mixtapes if he doesn't want to wear out as much as he already has.

Tha Carter III was overhyped and I can't even give a single song a chance by how annoying they are.

Instead of broadcasting how we smokin’ trees, on the radio we need to hear more local MC’s

He should not have Fab on any of his songs, Fab's too nice for Weezy. He makes Wayne look even worse.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the majority (sticking my neck out here) of the people who even bought this emcee's album would be your average suburban white kids.

girls at my school played the hell out of Lollipop and the guys have played the hell out of I'm Me/1000 Degrees.

Sure, he may come out with a hit that would be nice to hear at a party, but he's nothing more.

I do imagine with his antics that he'll end up dead after an overdose and people will start worshiping him more than they already do.

I don't wish that for him, but I've seen some of his videos on youtube and he's just a fiend in disguise in my opinion.

That also applies to any platinum selling album in history.
