Paying for Spotify is something that I don't even think about anymore. It's just like Netflix in that regard. I use it all the time, so it's worth the $10 for me.Comment

Any of you guys down with the Griselda camp? Conway and Westside Gunn are killing it, man. Hard ****. And their producer Daringer is holding it down too. Love what they're doing right now.
And I need a new Roc Marciano album...Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 04-16-2016, 06:45 AM.Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Listened to Views all the way through a few times now:
It's a good album, not a bad one, not a great one, but a good one. Im a pretty big Drake fan, and enjoyed the album, it's the album I expected, not necessarily the one I wanted.
A lot of people hyped themselves and thought this would be like Ready to Die or something, but I don't think Drake will ever make those people happy. I was listening to a podcast and they pointed out a criticism though that I do agree with:that Drake's music is so Drake that it's essentially its own genre at this point. He makes a style of music that is so him, that the sound has gotten a little tired and he doesn't seem that invested in switching it up. I know he's versatile, but if you're a Drake fan, I feel like you could listen to this album and put subtitles on the songs, this one will be all bars, this one will be about family, this one will be girl trouble. I love Drake and like the album, but I can see a situation where if he doesn't come back and retool the formula, I won't be as into it as I was before.
On a song by song basis, the kids still got it. I love Weston Road Flows, Still Here, Fire and Desire, U With Me? Feel No Ways, Most of the album tbh, it's just I like them individually. They don't have much relation to each other sonically. This is Drake's TLOP
Side note: It doesn't look good that all the ghostwriter stuff comes out and then there's some really bad bars on this album. I don't think people were writing every line for Drake or even that they're related, but it's pretty funny how it worked outLast edited by DieHardYankee26; 05-03-2016, 01:35 PM.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I have to agree with most of that except for about TLOP. Views felt like a collection of singles. A lot of good songs but not something I really want to listen to all the way through again which is probably what we should've expected. I personally thought TLOP was a great album, especially the one released on all services. The only song I didn't like was Facts. I'm probably one of the few on here who thinks Yeezus is also a great album and it didn't seem like anyone else was too hot on TLOP either.Arsenal Gunners|Kentucky Wildcats|Cincinnati BengalsComment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I know the hype has died down a little now, and after a few listens, I think Views is a solid 7.5/10. Not his best work, but not his worst. I don't feel it has the, I don't know, feeling and cohesiveness as some of his other work, but this is an album I can still jam without feeling the need to skip every other song.
