Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

So...we're just going to act like Nas didn't have any role in the evolution of hip-hop?

What about Snoop Dogg? Nelly? UGK?

The only thing Dre did was sign Em and 50. If anything I'd say Ice Cube had a bigger impact...

So, Dr. Dre's involvement in The Chronic and Doggy Style had no impact in bringing the west coast sound into the mainstream?

Whoa... now let's not get crazy. Yes, Dre may not write his own rhymes, uses ghost producers and takes forever to get music out, but to say the only thing he did was sign Em and 50.

Yeah, that was my own fault. I realized as soon as I posted that that Dre was part of the reason Snoop blew up. My bad. I was wrong.

As far as other pioneers go, I'd say Jay Z and P Diddy rank up there as well.

                    This thread sucks now.

I just look at this moreso for entertainment than anything, especially from what I've read here lately.

I aint gonna lie, I literally forgot about this mixtape. But, I am definitely hype for it. As long as it comes out before Monday, I am good.
