Don't get me wrong, Marshall is completely wack compared to what he used to put down many years ago now. But even as bad as MMLP2 was, his albums top pretty much everything out there that isn't TDE.

Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Recovery is better than the SSLP. Yeah, I said it.
I'm pumped, but I'm also probably one of the biggest Em fans on this site and have liked pretty much everything (except for Relapse, which was blah aside from three songs).Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
So Shady XV isn't necessarily an Eminem album. It's more of a Shady Records double album.
From his site:
Founded in 1999, Eminem and Shady Records will celebrate the label’s 15th anniversary with its fifteenth release: ShadyXV, a two-CD compilation featuring an album of the label’s greatest hits, including classics such as 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” and Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” plus an album of new material from Eminem, Slaughterhouse, Bad Meets Evil, D-12 and Yelawolf as well as special guest-artist collaborations. ShadyXV (Shady Records/Interscope Records), set for release November 28, 2014, will be preceded by a new Eminem single, “Guts Over Fear.” The song features Sia and was produced by Emile Haynie (Grammy winner for Best Rap Album for Eminem’s Recovery). “Guts Over Fear” is out today, August 25th.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I'd put it on par with SSLP and others, I played the **** out of Recovery when it came out.
MMLP2 was eh. Legacy i'd put as one of my fav Em songs and a few other decent ones were there.Last edited by Chrisksaint; 08-25-2014, 04:30 PM.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
50 says Jay can't compare to Em:
50 Cent says that Eminem is one of his best friends and that the Detroit rapper’s talent makes some people uncomfortable.
“Hip Hop is Black music, without question, and, unfortunately for some people, it’s tough to accept that you have a White artist that does it better than Black artists,” 50 Cent says during an interview with Music Choice. "It is what it is. You can get like whoever you think is the best Black artist and stand them face-to-face in a room with Em and he will eat that [guy] alive. Right now if you had 'em prepare themselves, whatever way they would have to prepare themselves to come battle…I bet what I have, everything” that Eminem would win.
50 Cent also says that Eminem has surpassed Jay Z and that the two were paired for 2010 concerts because of Jay Z’s business commitments.
“That’s Live Nation ‘cause [Jay Z] sold his touring career to Live Nation,” 50 Cent says, referring to Jay Z’s reported $150 million pact with Live Nation that was signed in 2008. "They’ve got to keep him hot enough to go get their money back. So they match ‘em up with Em, put them together ‘cause he got more momentum connected to his relationship with Beyonce and his record with Alicia. It makes sense. It makes sense, the Detroit/New York show. But it only makes sense to me because of business, it makes sense, because Em sold like 60 million records more than him. How you put ‘em there like they’re equals? It’s tough for me to say some of this [stuff] and not sound like a *****. But I don’t care.”
In June, 50 Cent appeared on an episode of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. 50 Cent mentioned Jay Z when he was asked who he thinks is the "most overrated Hip Hop star of all time." "Overrated?" 50 said. "Jay Z. He would say he's overrated. 'Rather be overrated than underpaid.'"
In his response, 50 Cent is likely referencing Jay Z's verse on Kanye West's "So Appalled." On the track, Jay says, "I went from the favorite to the most hated, But would you rather be underpaid or overrated?"

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I'd give the edge in skill to Em but in terms of their overall careers, discography, etc, that goes to Jay IMO. In the end it's all subjective though and both are two of the greatest to ever touch a mic.
Anyways....

And this is a year old but I just came across it today. That Space Jam theme sample is awesome.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
